Just checking in for 8-29; hope everyone's week is okay. Hubby and I went to a peace vigil yesterday to protest the war in Iraq. What was touching that a list of the wounded and those who passed on since the beginning of the year were read off. Usually I am not interested in politics, but I am in peace and bringing our boys home. Nefer |

I am checking in today to say hi to everyone. Hi Deb, I agree with you. I definitely support all our troops but I feel that enough is enough and it is time to bring our men/women back home. I think we have done all we can in Iraq and could use the armed forces to help out in our own country in states like Louisianna where people are still suffering from Hurricane Katrina damage and the huge rise of crime there. Just checking on for 9-5. Hope that everyone had a nice Labor Day. I am getting a little antsy about getting ready for winter since we need to start stocking up on firewood (should had months ago, but only have a cord so far). First day of school so far. What I can't believe is how much parents are expected to spend on school supplies. When I was a kid, most of it was provided. Nefer |

Hi Deb, I wish summer were over...we have had one of the hottest summers and the heat is still coming for the rest of the week. Hope you had a nice holiday. Take care, Michelle |

What state do you live in? I live in Florida, so I'm looking forward to winter! It's usually near perfect weather for a few months. I have to admit I miss the crispness of fall and the excitement of spring that I always had when we lived up north.

I live in Southwester NY; today it is supposed to get up to 91 deg. F This is not really hot for Florida, but it is for around here in September. I am hoping for more ran ASAP, especially since our water tank keeps running dry. Nefer |

Wish I had better news. Our well ran dry; that means going to the artesian well for water and having to do our laundry in town. Another one of our roosters is missing; the chicken count is down to 7. I am supposed to be doing a bunny event at Petmore tomorrow; hope we get a rabbit placed. Also hope we get some rain ASAP. Nefer and the fur/feather kids |

Good luck at your bunny event. We have so many homeless rabbits in our area. I have 5 rabbits who are all spayed and neutered. I wish I could have more but I'm truly at my limit spacewise, financially and timewise!

Speaking of bunnies, we have an adorable bunny who has found a home in our bushes. Wishing you lots of luck in getting many of your bunnies placed in good homes. Hope you get the much needed rain in your area too. So sorry to hear about another chicke missing, Deb. Take care, Michelle |

That chicken number keeps going back and forth (I guess the missing one showed up last night). What I do know is that we need to get ready for winter and figure out what we need to do to get the chickens in with the goat to keep them safe. Nefer and the kids |

That is good news Deb. Glad your chicken is safe and has returned. We are finally getting a teeny tiny bit of rain. The grass is just slowly dying from all this heat. Enjoy your day, Michelle |

Hi everyone, I have been taking a stab at the housecleaning (it really needs it) and it is a long process. Just taking care of all the critters is so time consuming that there is little time for anything else and not to wear me out. Hope everyone is doing well, Nefer and the fur and feather babies |

Dale and I dropped off the boy (Andrew) in Erie yesterday and had a 'date' with dinner and a movie. It was nice, but hopefully just have a relaxing day for our anniversary. Nefer |
