Reposting for Mel to get more exposure....if anyone knows of any breeder in the U.S. who sells these geese could you please pass the information over to Mel.  Thanks so much, Michelle

Hello all!  Hope everyone is surviving this awful winter, I've just popped my head out of the snow long enough to ask a few questions,  does anyone have any info on the old lines of pure Pomeranian geese, hatcheries or private individuals who raise them?  Do they still even really exist in North America anymore?   My 4 embden kids are doing very well through this tough winter and I would like to add some Pomeranians to my little flock.  My gram grew up with geese in what East Prussia and then became part of Poland after the WWII, so anybody with any info on interesting old German breeds would be great.  As always thank you guys so much for all your help, keep warm, spring is just around the corner.

Thanks so much for the help, the UK sites were very informative.  Does anyone have any experience with Holderread Farm?  They have Pomeranians listed and I may order from them.  Also one of my Embden girls laid a single egg about a week ago, big surprise!  Unfortunately she abandoned it and pushed it out of the goose house, and the shell split from the cold I guess.  When will they start to lay steadily and set the eggs?  April, May?  Thanks again everyone.  Keep warm!
Mel

I had geese a year or so ago so not much of a goose expert but I do raise ducks. Mine are of a wild strain so a few of mine have been laying for over a month. I am getting quite a few duck eggs right now including a few hidden nests. I allow my girls to hide their nest since I usually let them raise their own cacies. You girls should be laying already I would think because the domestic breeds usually start earlier but weather is a factor as well.

Good luck
