I read somewhere that sebastopols are highly suseptible to angel wing, and the way to fix it is to breed a smooth breasted bird to a curly chested bird. Now comes in my question. Since the strain of sebs I am going to get has angel wing, could I breed embdens into the line to cure the angel wing, and how many generations of breeding back to pure bred sebs do I need to go before I can call my line pure blood again? Also is there a way that I can keep them from getting angel wing with diet?

Hello

Yes there is a way to prevent angel wing through diet. Just simply provide as much greens as possible (grazing etc.) and watch the amout of protein in the feed that you are feeding them. I believe it should be around 16%. Also make sure they are getting enough minerals, which they will get through their greens and feed anyway. (During Laying season they will need extra so provide some oyster shell).
