I always used to like all four seasons. This year they all have gone crazy.
Not much of a skier anymore (my idea of skiing have never been the crowded slopes anyway, more walking up somewhere with furs under the skis and finding my own way down), but I like to ride a sledge and I like to walk in the snow, like the sound under my feet and if one slips - snow is a soft cushion for landing - lol
But last winter snow didn´t last in the valley, all the time it was snowing -raining - snowing - freezing - thawing....Path´become dangerous with this weather as one can´t see the ice under the slush and a leg is easily broken on the hard ground. Skiing-resorts were busy with their snow-machines every frosty night to keep their slopes - no way one could leave them - stones and roots sticking out everywhere.
February/March were warm and everything got in blossom
..but with a long cold spell a lot of blossoms were burned by the frost. Much damage was done to gardens and fruit-yards.
Summer was hot, but we had thunderstorms, storms, heavy rainfalls, even hail almost every day at least in forecast. Landslides, floods, up-rooted woods all over the country.
No way to hike up there..
..where one has to go a long way to find shelter.
And now the trees are still green, looking like summer...
..but it has gone cold and dull, 40 to 50 deg at noon, and snow is covering the mountains
Still hoping for an Indian Summer, but walking the mountain-tops might be over for this year.
September/October used to be the greatest hiking-time as the air is clear and one can "see forever" from high up.
Have missed out on a lot of my activities this year and I do miss them - but there is always another time, another year to come, isn´t it?
And I did have very nice hikes, too few, but I did have them.
What about your seasons?
