There can be no angels who walk
In the ways of  the weak and the small
Who travel the highways and talk
With words that say nothing at all
The angel treads in comfort, in ease
And stop short of troubling man
The smile is a gift of gentle appease
Blessed in the way that only God can
If ever the mind gives me grief
I look to the right side of me
There sits the angel who brings relief
Whos light is the freedom for me
There are times when I foolishly fall
In ways that are reckless and wild
To my mind does the angel recall
I step with the mind of a child
Quicken the grip on my shoulder
Lessen the beat of my heart
Walk my way, angel, make me bolder
From wild ways let me depart.
Take my side in love and in sadness
Angel stay with me I pray
Fill my heart with endless gladness
And ever with me please stay!
