Coupons
For those of us who like to use coupons, there are many sites online to print them out.  Try UltimateCoupons.com which lists hundreds of coupons for local stores and merchants that you can print right from your computer.

Address Organization
Buy a pack of index cards and a little box (such as a recipe box).  As letters arrive, simply cut the return address labels from the envelopes and tape them to the cards with transparent tape.  A cheap and easy way to organize those addresses.

Aching Feet
Soothe Your Aching Feet:
Try this homestyle method: Pour a healthy shot of baking soda into a pan filled with warm water. Give your feet a good soak. This mixture will also help to soften rough skin.

Humidifiers
To keep your humidifier fresh, dissolve one tablespoon of borax in one gallon of water.  Pour the solution into the humidifier and let it run.

Bedroom Makeover
To give your bedroom a quick and easy makeover, use sheets.  You can make custom curtains, pillow cases, duvet covers and tablecloths.  And it all will match for little cost.

Lilacs
Prune lilacs as soon as the blooms fade.  First, cut off all new shoots emerging at the base of the plant that are smaller than a pencil.  Then remove about 1/5 of the oldest branches.

Old Milk Jugs
Need a use for old milk jugs?  Use an empty milk jug as a dust pan.  Cut off the bottom at an angle and use the top section.  This also works well as a scoop for dog food.

Your Thermos
To remove strong odors (like coffee) from your thermos, simply fill with warm water and drop in a denture tablet.  Should remove the odors after sitting for a little while.

Mosquito Treatment
Mosquito Treatment Pass this on to anyone who likes sitting out in the evening or when they're having a cook out. So you don't like those pesky mosquitoes, especially now that they have the potential to carry the West Nile Virus? Here's a tip that was given at a recent gardening forum. Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a couple drops of Lemon Fresh Joy dish detergent. Set the dish on your porch, patio, or other outdoor area. Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate color, or what, but mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh Joy/water mixture, and usually within about 10 feet of the plate. Check this out---it works just super! May seem trivial, but it may help control mosquitoes around your home, especially in the South and elsewhere where the West Nile virus is reaching epidemic proportions in mosquitoes, birds, and humans. Pass it along!!!!!!!!!!

Telephone Mouthpiece Dirty?
Clean it quickly and easily by wiping a moist towelette over the ear piece and mouthpiece. Keep these in your purse and when you have to use a public phone, you can give it a fast clean.  I keep baby wipes in a resealable baggie for just such times.

Pots & Pans
When storing coated pans, such as nonstick pans, don't stack them without some protection.  Use a paper towel to separate each pan from the other.  This will prevent unnecessary scratching and lenthen the life of the pan.

Ring Around the Collar
For ring around the collar, pretreat with shampoo.  It should come out when you wash the shirt.

Smelly Onion Hands
You know how the odor lingers for hours after cutting an onion no matter how many times you wash your hands?  Simply rub salt on your hands and rinse.  The odor goes away with the salt!

Candles
Want your candles to last longer?  Place them in the freezer for 3 hours before burning.  They will burn slower and at an even rate.

Company Coming?

Have on hand a box and when that call comes saying so and so is on their way over, and you don’t want them to come into a clutter mess, label the box—Living Room- and just go through and toss the stuff you want out of sight, but no time to put away, into the box and put outta sight into the bedroom. Then, when company leaves, get the box, and just put the stuff away as you take it out of the box.

Birthday Tip
To keep wax from getting on the birthday cake, use miniature marshmallows to hold the candles.  Use larger marshmallows for larger candles.

Here is an idea I thought of : I have a one story house and above my garage is my attic and when I came home I noticed a chip of paint off my trim around the vent on the outside of my house. So I thought I don't have anything to reach that high. Then I thought I bet a sponge mop would work. I went to the dollar store and bought one and getting on my step ladder I was able to reach the place. Then I washed it out and can use it again if I need to.

Sticky Drawers
Sticky dresser drawers will slide more easily if you rub candle wax or soap on the runner.

Laundry Tip
In your laundry room, keep a small pin cushion and an extra pair of scissors.  Keep several needles threaded with different colors of thread.  Now whenever a button falls off in the wash, you can repair before throwing the item in the dryer.  Now you won't lose the buttons.  Plus, you can trim loose threads right when you see them.

Beauty
When looking for an inexpensive makeover-Why not check out a cosmetology school.  They often charge 50% less for facials and manicures than a regular salon.

Strawberries and Mushrooms
Do not rinse strawberries and mushrooms when bringing them home from the store.  This will cause them to become slimy.  Instead, wipe with a paper towel and store in a paper bag in the fridge.  When it comes time for use, rinse the strawberries with water.  Take a damp cloth to the mushrooms to get the "dirt" off of them.

Drying Clothes
This summer try line drying your clothes.  Not only will your clothes smell outdoorsy fresh, but your electric bill could be cut up to 15%.

Dating The Job
When you paint a room, write the date, the brand of paint and color used in pencil under the switch plate. That way
later on, you can check right in the room to see how long it's been since the room was painted and what paint was used.

Coffee Mugs Chipped?
Don't throw them out. Instead, if the chip is in the top,use them as a "pot" for small plants. If mugs have a crack, fill with pencils, pens or paper clips, etc.

In the Trunk of Your Car
Keep a styrofoam cooler in the trunk of your car.  That way when you go grocery shopping, you can store the meat, refrigerated items, and frozen goodies cold.  This is very helpful in case you have to stop somewhere on the way home from the store.

Quicker Dishwashing
If you do not have a garbage disposal, stick a collander in her other sink so that when you rinse the dishes, the food falls into the collander.  Then you only have to go to the garbage can once as the water will drain off after rinsing the plates and the food will stay in the collander and you just carry the collander to the trash to dump.

Refrigerator Redo
Refrigerators get covered with smudges and fingerprints. First clean all of these off and then wax your refrigerator with car wax. It will sparkle and those marks will slip right off with a dry cloth.

Relief for an Insect Bite
Emergency hints: Soak a clean cloth in white household vinegar. Place it over the bitten area.  A dab of old-fashioned white toothpaste on the bite can help too.

Vegetable bins in fridge
To keep the moisture out your storage drawers in the fridge, place a clean, dry sponge in the bottom of the drawer.  It will soak up all the moisture in the drawer.

Foggy Windows & Mirrors
To prevent fog from devoloping on your windows, mirrors or even your eyeglasses, clean them with foaming shaving cream.  They won't fog up on you!
