Angels of Destruction
These are the Angels of punishment and vengeance. They are often called the Angels of the "Sword of God" delivering Divine punishment in the form of wrath and sometimes even death. It is estimated that there are over 100,000 of these Angels all in the service of devils. They often make themselves know in physical form as tricksters, false prophets and "unholy" spiritual leaders. They are very frequently in the area when a terrible disaster or event occurs.
  • A few of the better known angels in this group are:
  • Kemeuel
  • Af
  • Uriel
  • Azriel
  • Simkiel

Can someone tell me a little more about Uriel?  I see here that he is listed as an angel of destruction?  Is he bad and like a fallin angel or what?  I guess that I am just wondering to what his purpose is.

Uriel is often identified as a cherub and angel of repentance.[1] He "stands at the Gate of Eden with a fiery sword,"[2] or as the angel who "watches over thunder and terror."[3] In the Apocalypse of Peter he appears as the Angel of Repentance, who is graphically represented as being as pitiless as any demon. In the Life of Adam and Eve, Uriel is regarded as the spirit (i.e., one of the cherubs) of the third chapter of Genesis. He is also identified as one of the angels who helped bury Adam and Abel in Paradise.

Stemming from medieval Jewish mystical traditions, Uriel has also become the Angel of Sunday (Jewish Encyclopedia), the Angel of Poetry, and one of the Holy Sephiroth. It was Uriel who wrestled Jacob at Peniel and Uriel is depicted as the destroyer of the hosts of Sennacherib.

The prayer of Jospeth in the Legends of the Jews reads "Jacob - 鈥漌hen I was coming from Mesopotamia of Syria, Uriel, the angel of God, came forth and spoke: 鈥業 have come down to earth to make my dwelling among men, and I am called Jacob by name.鈥欙拷?

He checked the doors of Egypt for lamb's blood during the plague. He also holds the key to the Pit during the End Times and led Abraham to the West.

In modern and only marginally Christian angelology, Uriel is identified variously as a seraph, cherub, regent of the sun, flame of God, angel of the Divine Presence, presider over Tartarus (hell), archangel of salvation, and, in later scriptures, identified with Phanuel "face of God." He is often depicted carrying a book or a papyrus scroll representing wisdom. Uriel is a patron of the Arts

Archangel Uriel

The Archangel Uriel is one of the seven Archangels that stand at the throne of the God Creator and one of the four major Archangels that serve humanity. Uriel rules the mental plane, our thoughts and ideas, creativity, insights, judgment, magic, alchemy, astrology, universal consciousness, divine order, the distribution of power, the cosmic universal flow and the Earth's environment. Uriel is humanity's link to the spiritual realms and he can show us how to find our inner power through a process that will help each individual Shift in consciousness and therefore accelerate the entire human kingdom's shift into higher realms of consciousness.

As the Archangel of Salvation, Uriel can show us how to heal every aspect of lives, turning disappointments into victories, find blessings in adversity, and release the painful burdens and memories of the past through the application of unconditional forgiveness. Uriel uses his flaming sword to purify mental and emotional understanding and transmute lower vibrational energies into enlightened spiritual understanding.

Uriel brings the power of unconditional forgiveness to humanity as the key to transcending the Shift entering the Kingdom of the Creator, the higher realms of energetic vibration and consciousness. He is releasing his message at this time because humanity has indicated, through its willingness to embrace the Shift in Consciousness, that it is ready to listen, act and transcend the human experience. While he stands at the gate of the Garden of Eden with his flaming sword, to deny entry to those who have forgotten how to love the Creator God, he also holds out the key to entry, the application of Unconditional Forgiveness to every area of our lives.

Uriel, Gabriel, Michael and Raphael are
the four archangels mentioned most often in
Hebrew, Kabbalistic, Islamic, and Christian
traditions.   The name Uriel literally means
"Fire of God," "Flame of God," "Light of God,"
or even "Sun of God."

Some accounts place the Archangel Uriel at the head of the third order or company of angels.  Others identify Uriel as one of the Seven Spirits before the Throne.  Kabbalists assign Uriel to the middle pillar of the Tree of Life, and specifically to the sephirah Malkuth, the Kingdom.   Malkuth is often associated with the Shekinah, the Glory of God and the divine presence in the world.   Malkuth represents the lowest point of descent of the divine force, from which it ascends again to complete the cycle of manifestation and pralaya.  The penetration of divine force to the physical plane is of particular interest, at this time, because of the increasing intensity of seventh-ray energy in the world and growing emphasis on healing work.

The Archangel Uriel has been called "the Lord of powerful action" [Helena Roerich.  Heart.  Agni Yoga Society, 1932, 268].  Uriel personifies the Divine Fire that comes down from the Third Aspect of Deity--Universal Mind--penetrating each plane until It reaches the physical.  There, the Fire ignites the fusion in the center of the Sun, the fission at the center of the Earth, and the kundalini at the base of the spine.  It creates worlds, universes, and life--which then await the quickening impulse of the Second Aspect to evolve and grow.

The Book of Enoch describes Uriel as "one of the holy angels, who is over the world... the leader of them all."  Later we read in the same book: "Uriel showed to me, whom the Lord of glory hath set for ever over all the luminaries of the heaven... the sun, moon, and stars, all the ministering creatures which make their revolution in all the chariots of the heaven."

In Paradise Lost, John Milton mentions "Th' Arch-Angel URIEL, one of the seav'n, Who in Gods presence, neerest to his Throne... Regent of the Sun."  In his oratorio, The Creation, composed in 1797, Franz Joseph Haydn has Uriel announce the words from Genesis: "And God saw the light, that it was good... And God said, Let there be light in the firmament of heaven, to divide the day from the night, and to give light upon the earth... He made the stars also."

Colin Wilson describes encounters between Uriel and the 16th century scholar, Dr. John Dee.  Dee's scrying assistant, Edward Kelley, saw a cherub in a crystal ball.   Dee identified the cherub from his Kabbalistic knowledge as "Uriel, the angel of light."  Later, in 1582, Dee had a vision of a child angel floating outside the window, holding a crystal egg.  Again he identified this with Uriel.  Wilson claims that the crystal egg is preserved in the British Museum. [Colin Wilson.  The Occult: A History.  Random House, 1971, pp. 273-4].  Whether Uriel appears as a child, a powerful man, or a woman of regal bearing (as the artistic depictions show below), the archangel continues to command the imagination, reverence, and devotion of people around the world.

Uriel is often referred to as the Great Archangel of the Earth.  One contemporary account describes the archangel thus: "He (or she) is the keeper of the mysteries which are deep within the planet, underground and in the hidden depths of the living world." [Archangel Uriel, Patron of Ecology]  Additional information is provided along with the artwork reproduced below.

The feast day of the Archangel Uriel is celebrated July 28.   Uriel's influence is believed to peak during the summer months.  According to Corinne Heline:  "The beautiful Uriel stands guardian over the activities of the summer.  The ripening of grain and the floodtide of blossom are under his guidance.   He also supervises the Nature Spirits, those fascinating little sprites who inhabit the elements of earth, air, fire and water, and who lend so much to the beautification of all nature.  The highest initiatory teachings belonging to the New Age... are under the direction of Uriel."  [Corinne Heline.  The Blessed Virgin Mary.  New Age Press, 1971, p. 110.]

Invocation to the Archangel Uriel

Glory to God and his deeds,
for everything is good and wonderful.
Holy Archangel Uriel,
protect and look after rivers,
their waters we drink,
life springs up from them;
make grass sprout for cattle,
make man yield bread out of the land,
wine to enliven his heart,
oil and food to give him force.

[This beautiful invocation was translated from the original Spanish by Pedro Pablo Parrado of Bogota, Colombia]

Hi Anna
I hope the previous posts help you to explore Uriel, and give a little more understanding.
I myself think Uriel paves the way for a new beginning, much like the The Tower in a Tarot Deck, or the Death card.
Anyway, I hope these help
Blessings
Falcon

Hi Anna,

The Archangel Uriel, fights for us when we need help fighting against a foe that is to strong for us to battle, he can move one finger and ten thousand people can die, in any battle, most Angels have this power, and can do this...
Their is one other thing that Uriel Guards and that is he Holds the Abyss & Darkness away from humans....
Most all Angels as well as Archangels can Heal anyone one... they have the Authority to do so, even without premission from other people, they are commissioned by the Creator to do so, at anytime, and for any reason....

Archangel Gabriel is the Messenger angel and their are 4 million such Angel under him....

Archangel Michael is the Warrior Angel of God the Creator, He fights divinely for us when we need it most....

Archangel Raphael Also, Heals Us, and that is his basic function...

All of these Archangels can heal any of us with or without our knowledge, but it is always better to know it, and other times of which we as people may impeed the healing process because of actions we do on our behalf as well as others also...

I hope that help's just a little bit...

All of them do protect us, even Fallen angels and Fallen Archangel Protect, but their is always a price associated with it.... Costs ussaully is some curse that the person has to bare themselves, and then their are those that like to pass the buck on someone else, and let someone else take the curse, rather than the one doing the ritual or spell,

Yes, their are Spells and Rituals, that can create Healing's....

Good Dark Black White, Magick ; It's Just Magick.(Good Bad Black White doesn't figure in) their's Puppet Magick that can Heal as well as Curse... It's Just how you enchant the Spells  Rituals and Tools and How long you do it for....

I believe in thing's beyond the normal, and beyond anything most can't fathom
