*Egyptian Goddess ?Nut *
Nut is the Egyptian Goddess of the sky, who was married to Her brother Geb (God of the Earth). Nut had 5 children: Osiris, Isis, Horus-the-elder, Set and Nephthys. She is usually depicted in artwork as a star-covered woman whose body arches and stretches over the earth, holding up the sky. Her fingers and toes touched the earth at the 4 cardinal points (north, south, east, west).
Nut stays in the sky during the day, but comes down to the earth to be with Her husband at night, which is what brings the darkness and stars. She is also shown as a cow in the sky, and shares many qualities with Hathor.
