Dragon-Bubble Meditation We live in the real world daily, but it must be inspired by something. There is a creator spark within us all. Some of us use it to create beautiful loving homes to live in. Some of us use it to create beautiful works of art. Some use it to create boggling technical advances. The truth is, the creative spark that lives within each of us is inhibited only by our own imaginations! Does it have to be real at first? Or - does everything begin as a dream and become a reality through our own diligence?
Let us see where our creative sparks can lead us.
As with any meditation, begin by turning off the phone and ridding yourself of any interruptions and distractions. Soft, non-verbal music is good if you live somewhere noisy to begin with, and headphones can work even better. We are endeavoring to create a peaceful, productive and comfortable place outside, to enable us to explore inside, freely.
Sitting is probably preferable for this meditation as we wish to think, not dream at this time. Be certain you will remain physically comfortable during this meditation so that your body will have no need to interrupt you.
Take a few deep breaths and relax your mind. Center yourself and ground. Breathe out the negativity and stress in a dark stream, breathe in healing and loving protection as a white or gold stream of light. Begin at your toes, flex and relax each portion of your body til you are totally relaxed to your crown. Take a couple more deep, cleansing breaths then find a comfortable breathing pattern to settle in to.
See in front of you a wishing well. Anything you hold onto that is causing you harm, throw it in the well for now. Do not worry about where it goes, it's merely waiting for you to come back to it at a later date. Tonight, we travel worry free! Go to your sacred space. Enjoy a few minutes there before stepping beyond the boundaries into a beautiful garden full of flowers and trees. You choose the trees and the layout, as well as any flowers, etc. In the middle of the garden is a large fountain and off to the side is a large grassy field. The garden has many paths to choose from. Feel free to explore around a bit. Then connect this garden to your own sacred space and know that you can return to it any time you wish to.
When you are ready, go to the grassy field and sit comfortably. Sink your bare feet into the grass and feel the life-throb of Earth become a part of you. Close your eyes so that the garden fades from sight, but still remains visual in your mind's eye. Tonight we travel within. Feel a protective bubble surround you. Know that you are safe in here. For now, our playground will be this garden. The bubble doesn't move, but merely allows you to view things from a "safe" distance.
Relax your breathing once more. Focus your attention back on the garden. Some of the trees start rustling gently at first, then on a greater scale, as though something large is moving about. The moon above seems to shine a bit brighter, and you notice perhaps for the first time that it is a full moon above you. (Perhaps you see more than one? Worlds beyond ours are wonderful to explore...whatever is comfortable for you.)
The full moon only detracts your attention from the trees briefly. As you return your gaze to the trees, a magnificent dragon steps into view. Not to large as to be intimidating, this dragon is a bit smaller than some we've seen in other places. It eyes you as curiously as you are watching it. Everything is silent while you look each other over. Take a few minutes to just enjoy this beautiful creature. I will not describe it, that is for you and your mind alone. (Each time you do this meditation, it can even change if you so desire, but for this meditation, we will stay with one Dragon only.)
You become aware of a presence, a voice, that seems to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. You know this being is communicating with you. You find it can hear your thoughts, and you can hear a new "voice" that clearly belongs to the Dragon, within.
Even the youngest of Dragons hold ancient wisdom. Take some time to communicate with this Dragon. Listen. Ask questions if you like. Above all, do not be afraid. This one holds no danger to you.
After you have acquainted yourself with this magical Dragon, talk to it about something you need help figuring out or deciding. Perhaps you will hear an approach you haven't previously considered.
When you are finished, thank this Dragon for spending time with you. As you do, it removes itself from your line of vision. Take a few minutes to contemplate this wonderful meeting before opening your eyes and returning to the grassy field and your bubble. As your eyes open, you see the bubble begin to fade. Explore the garden a bit more before returning to your sacred space.
Take a few deep breaths, and when you are ready, return to a wakeful state of mind. You will be refreshed and alert, and able to remember all details of this exercise.
I recommend writing down your thoughts and experiences for later contemplation. Remember you can do this more than once, and each time you can either find a new Dragon, or call forth one you have visited before.
Above all else, respect them.
Enjoy your time with them.
Be open to learning from them!
