The power of a July thunderstorm is one of the great spectacles of nature. A thunderstorm can be used to charge our strength and courage, and it’s a wonderful time to work a spell for courage. In a small bowl, or with a mortar and pestle, crush together these courage-attracting herbs: one teaspoon each of dry black tea leaves, golden yarrow, and dried borage leaves. As you pulverize them, visualize yourself crushing your fears and obstacles, and say: “Tea, yarrow, and borage draw to me strength and courage.�When it’s safe to go outdoors, take your herb mixture. Facing south, say: “Let the thunder roll, let the lightning strike, let the sky turn black as night. Let all my fears take flight.�After speaking this charm, hold the dry herbs in your hand and blow them toward the south. See your fears vanishing; you can do anything now.
