I know that anyone in this group that is an Ancient History buff, have asked or been asked the question, "Have you read the Da Vinci Code?" In the novel, the Holy Grail is believed to be a person, rather then a chalice. The novel also looks at the Grail theory in two ways. Toward the end of the novel it is said that the Holy Grail is in the pyramid in the Louvre. The pyramid being, in a sense, an "ice-burg" with only the tip being visible. If the Knights Templar was trying to hide the Holy Grail, then what better place to hide it then in an obvious place. I say obvious for the fact that, the Holy Grail is one of the biggest religious artifacts. Excuse me, it is the biggest religious artifact, that ever will be found. If they were hiding the Grail from the Romans or other religious leaders, then the people looking for it would look in religious temples, or monuments. They would never think to look in a Generals home. (The Louvre being Napoleons home.). What is your thoughts on the theory that the Holy Grail and the location of the Holy Grail? I've heard that Leonardo inserted his self-portrait into this painting as one of the Apostles. But I can't remember which one. |

Please, disregard Leonardo da Vinci's knowledge with the last supper, which he has none in this subject. da Vinci was born 04/23/1452 he never saw the last supper which took place Nisan 14 of the year 33 C.E., Jesus gathered with his 12 apostles in Jerusalem to celebrate the last valid Passover.

The Passover(Last Supper) was always observed on Nisan (Abib) 14, being on or near the day of full moon, inasmuch as the first day of every month (lunar month) in the Jewish calendar was the day of the new moon, as determined by visual observation. Therefore the 14th day of the month would be about the middle of a lunation. The date of Jesus?death is shown in the article JESUS CHRIST (Time of his death) to be Nisan 14, 33 C.E.(Common Era) Concerning the day of his death as reckoned on the Gregorian calendar, astronomical calculations show that there was an eclipse of the moon on Friday, April 3, 33 C.E. (Julian calendar), which would be Friday, April 1, on the Gregorian calendar. (Oppolzer’s Canon of Eclipses, translated by O. Gingerich, 1962, p. 344) Eclipses of the moon always occur at the time of full moon. This evidence strongly indicates that Nisan 14, 33 C.E., fell on Thursday-Friday, March 31–April 1, 33 C.E., on the Gregorian calendar.

Dan Brown screwed up history royally. He did a crappy job of research. I read the book, plus Holy Blood Holy Grail. He stole from that book as well. All it is is pop culture history. Read the anti-Brown stuff, and you'll see where he screwed up. |

I'd be willing to bet that Brown's motive in writing that novel had more to do with profit than historical accuracy. I am sure that he appreciated all the free publicity too. |

Lew I'll prop your statement with the fact that all struggling authors choose a name next to that of a popular author. Like, Bernard/Patricia Cornwell,.Dale/Dan Brown, Patrick/Derek Robinson, Flash/ Flesh Gordon Plagiarism is an evil thing. The one and only Flash. Ignore all imitations. Except my rich nephew Flasharry |

Brown's mistake was claiming that his bogus information in the novel came from authentic research, when in fact it didn't. I agree that he was in it strickly for the money and fame, both of which he got, unfortunately. |

What the heck is that white thing in front of JC? Nice table cloth also. Very clean cloths for that un-soap time in history. No one painted anything during that period of time with out the approval of the church RCC. So one painted as one was informed to do. sunny |

Exucse me, but Leonardo Da Vinci wasn't alive in ancient times. He was born in the 15th century. |
