According to archaeologists it was probably invented in around 8,000 BC in Asia.

It was said that in Mesopotamia over Fifty Five Hundred years ago, they had a wheel.

What about the Peruvian Llamas and Alpacas which certainly were used as pack animals. And where you get pack animals are they not frequently used to turn grindstones and Archimedian type screw wheels for irrigation?

Alpacas are too cute to be used as common pack animals!

Flash,

The Aztec Empire, extensive as it was, did not extend beyond Central America, mainly encompassed the middle of modern-day Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, some of Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica. Peru was the land of the Incas, who did make use of the Alpacas and Llamas.

Aztec did not have the wheel nor did any of the indians of the Americas. I hear from good sources that neolithic peoples in the area known as the Tigris and euphrates rivers may have invented it.

Bow thank you.

One might surmise the Peruvians and Chileans didn't need it and when "Liberated" by the Fenian Bernardo O'Higgins (1778) were delayed in using it since the Irish hadn't a clue how to use it either. The wheel wasn't there to help O'Higgins's dad run away from O'Higgins's unmarried Mother either.

As usual the answer must be all patents for the wheel rest in the Edinburgh Patents Office

Sunday
  1. Would you rather hump a few hundred pounds of coca leaf or be slaughtered for your pretty fur?
  2. Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas, and unlike llamas, alpacas are not used as beasts of burden but are valued only for their fiberOK. appears you can smoke them too
  3. Many do not like their feet, lower legs, and especially their abdomen touched or handled. OK I can't see Tommy ordering one.
  4. Finally,  Generally, males have much tidier, and fewer dung piles than females. Females  tend to stand in a line and all go at once. A thouroughly predictable animal then.
The ups and downs of Alpaca life.

Owl, wheeled toys have been found in the ruins of Aztec & other meso-American tribes' cities.  What those tribes did not have, were beasts of burden to make the wheel economically viable.

Probably some Republican Aztec short-selling wheel futures crashed the whole thing Lew and drove em to ruin.

since this is one of the boards I have poked fun at people for age I must offer an apology.  as a lot of you know I am a soldier, I had a birthday recently I turned 37 the one of the oldest in my section, I am the butt of most of the old jokes now.  One of the young'ns ( I am old enough to have sired the little shit) made a crack about giving a birthday beating and I popped off that he should get help... he did the whole team got me. 10 minutes later probably a dozen plastic ties and a roll of 100MPH tape later I realized how old I was.

But they learned an Old man doesn't go down easily, 3 of them felt the urge to get a rabies vaccination, and another almost lost the potential to procreate.  I taught them all is fair when you are outnumbered.
