The warwiththeMongolsin China,Eastern Europe,Some portions of western Europe as well as most of the Islamic world and conducted by a number of the Khans. The Mongols had most ofthe civilized world under their yoke. Bela IV fled for his life leaving his army to their fate and Duke Henry II dead,The Templars all but destroyed and King Boleslav V. Europe open and preparing for the final defense of Europe I would dare too say that if we exclude the countless variables that techcnological changesbring,we could call this a world wareight hundred years before Germany started theirs.Anyone out their agree?

How close the Mongols came to conquering Europe is one of history's forgotten facts. Only the death of the Great Khan Ogodei in 1241 prevented the Mongol hordes from sweeping across western Europe as they had to return home to chose a new leader. They never returned as the Mongol Empire split into a number of smaller Khanates.
