The Labour Party handed China over to the Communists in 1949, and never criticised Chinese expansion. Harry Pollit, one of their MPs who then went to the Communists visited their POW camps during Korea just like Jane Fonda in Vietnam.,

So we British will do nothing. As Labour did nothing in Poland, Hungary, Czechkoslavakia, east Germany 1953.

Tibet is vital to China as containing a substantial border with India.

Seafire.
Because there are Ladies on site I will not mention the Chinese partiality for female yaks during the fly season.
I will not even say nudge nudge. Or wink wink,

TIBET HAS BEEN A BAG OF WORMS BECAUSE OF IT'S LOCATION SINCE DAY ONE.
THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO EMBARASS THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT DURING A TIME WHEN ALL EYES ARE ON CHINA WITH THE OLYMPICS. (THIS IS VERY WELL ORGANIZED)
NOT KNOWING HOW TO HANDLE OUTSIDE CRITICISM CHINA HAS MADE THE MISTAKE OF TRYING TO HIDE THE SITUATION FROM THE WEST. IF THEY WERE SMART THEN THEY WOULD LET THE CAMERAS INTO SEE WHO IS REALLY CAUSING THE PROBLEMS.
BY BOYCOTTING THE GAMES IT WILL ONLY MAKE CHINA GO BACK INTO IT'S SHELL INSTEAD OF BEING PULLED OUT OF IT LIKE CAPITALISM IS DOING NOW.

The Dalai Lama has threatened to resign as political leader of Tibet if the Tibetans resort to violence.  He will remain their spiritual leader, however.

Very nearly. There's Jimbert, a NZ Yorkshireman, and Peter B, both old regimental friends of mine, and then the voluptuous but shy Major Shrapnel whose trembling modesty confines his appearances to the juicier cameo roles. Need I say more, young squire?

Yes, but the shy retiring one easily overlooked.
GB fought a brief war with Tibet 1903-04.

Mark, I see where the Chinese are mired in mud because of soil erosion of their farmland.    Didn't GB steal all of the trees back in colonial days creating this current quagmire?

I think you'll find it was the Communists in more recent times who've laid waste to the countryside to make way for industry.
