Although I truly try to avoid shopping at any "big box" store in general, & Wal-Mart in particular & much prefer shopping at the dwindling "mom & pop" stores & paying the big buck, my lady insisted on visiting our local Wal-Mart to do some of her Xmas shopping early this morning.  I took the opportunity to accompany her & do some people watching &  while analyzing the Wally shoppers I witnessed the following:

Morbid obesity rampant
Adorned in cheap ill fitting Chinese clothing
Gimps & crips galore
Vacant stares
Missing chromosomes prevelant
Buses arriving with helmet wearing window lickers
Massive use of Social Services "wellie" debit cards

I then transformed myself into the Flashman mantra:

"If you can cast doubts on the skills & ability of others, there's no end to the things you can fail at without being noticed" & immediately felt better about myself.  A catharsis for me that I shall repeat on a weekly basis from now on.

Tommy,

You have an uncannily Hemingway-esque gift for accurate literary description. What you described of your Wal-Mart experience is "spot-on" for a typical Saturday afternoon at every Wal-Mart I've ever visited. Though, admittedly, I have no idea of what gimps & crips are. I've always thought of Wal-Mart shoppers as an accurate cross section representation of American trailer park society.

That's fightin' talk, there are a number of lady members here who worship at the altar of the God of Wal-Mart. Be careful in dark alleys is my advice.

AND THEN THERE ARE OTHER LADIES HERE WHO DON'T HAVE A WALMARTS IN THEIR AREA.
