There seems to be little mention in the Western press about the ongoing war in Chechyna. Is this because the Chechenans are muslims, and the Russians have lost over 11000 thousand men since 1999.

Stalin deported the entire population of Chechnya in 1944 for alleged collaboration with the Nazis.

According to Daily Telegraph, Putin is having to use Chechen special forces to fight the "rebels".

Since Bush and Blair are not involved in this war, it is obviously not news worthy to the west.
