5 years ago tonight was when Nova Scotia got hit with its first Hurricane in 40 years (Juan) And here we are again awaiting Another one (Kyle) Lucky for us it is not expected to make Landfall as close to us this time, so other than Winds and Rain we should be ok. I suspect we will probably lose power so I don't know when I will be able to check in again. I'll keep you all posted. Hopefully we will not lose our phones or power for very long. Here is the track for Kyle as of 5 pm Atlantic time today We are pretty much right on the edge of the hurricane track on the South coast of Nova Scotia |

We made out ok. Kyle passed well west of us, tho there are close to 30,000 people without power. When he made landfall he was a low Category 1 Hurricane but b/c he hit at High tide there was alot more damage. I'll keep you posted. I should be back more often now. I was working but I quit too many family obligations |

Well I am sorry for the people who are inconvenienced but I am glad things went well in your area!
All these storms are messing up my beach! I live just a block off of a main road, Lantana Road, and if you follow Lantana Road all the way east you get to Lantana Beach.
Well, last week the water was covering ALL of the beach, was in the parking lot, and of course it closed down.
Now the place is closed and roped off. The restaurant may fall in, I think, and the sidewalks that used to go above and alongside the beach (like you climb the stairs off the beach up to the deck where the sidewalks, restaurant and all are) are caved in!
Crazy, man.
We went tonight to take a peek. The water has receded but the damage is nuts.

Not that we were hit personally with storms, but it makes our water crazy...
My sister went last week and there were dead fish all over the beaches (what little beach was left) and people were fishing right there from the public beach (well, it was closed so it's not like there were swimmers) and catching all kinds of stuff.
Weird.
