Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
2 Cups Rolled Oats
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Pkg Milk Chocolate Chips (make sure the are milk chocolate chips)

Mix shortening, sugar and brown sugar together.  Beat until it is creamy.  Add the eggs,  flour,  baking soda, salt and the baking powder.  Beat on low while adding these ingredients.  Then slowly add the oats and vanilla.  Keep your mixer on low while adding these ingredients.  Finally, add the chocolate chips.  Stir these in by hand so you don't smash them.

Drop spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 10-12 min.

(I usually double the recipe and put about 11/2 Tablespoons of vanilla in it. Either way they are really good.)

Yum, yum, chocolate chips are one of my favorites. My mother makes those and also makes M&M' cookies
