For those that like crab meat but hate to fool with pickin the meat here is a super recipe and its easy to make and taste just like crab patties
16 oz turnips chopped (for mashed)
3/4 c italian bread crumbs
2 eggs
1/4 grated pamesan or romano cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
just enough milk to moisten
In salted water, boil the turnips until tender. Drain well and remove to a mixing bowl. Mix together well the turnips, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper. To thi, add just enough milk to moisten. Drop by teaspoon into skillet containing hot oil and brown on both sides. Remove drain and serve hot. Makes 25-30 patties.
best if cooked in canola oil, that is what i use for all of my frying, not bad on your heart as veggie oil.
