Karen you will absolutely love this group. All the ladies are so very nice and helpful. We do have a lot going on but it keeps you busy and it is fun. I love the cabin blocks they are so much fun to do, and it is fun to see how everyone is different. So when you finish all your UFOs you can jump in to some of the other projects. As for as the every birdie's home. That is one of my favorites I hope to do some day soon. And also Isabella's Garden since I saw Rosemary's and how pretty hers is. So just enjoy. It is a great group.

Funny the turns Life takes, Diana! I was going through my UFO pile(s) and came across the first 2 of the "Every Birdies Home" blocks I'd done (and loved!) and thought "Whee has that group gone?" Asked some of my quilting Delphi forum members if they remembered it and they led me here - am SO glad I found you!
SOMEPLACE I have all those months printed out/saved, though lost many of my files (unbacked-up) when the old pc "died". I plan to finish those and as well, see the many other things you have going on here on the msn group site.
Once was a time there was not much available online for us cyberquilters. There is so much now and one can determine their "favorites".
Right now, I've finished some UFO tops and sent them off to VA for the Suffolk County tornado victims ... hate to turn on the tv anymore as there are so many storms happening and drastically altering the course of so many people's lives.
With 4 grown boys and 1 grown girl in the family, has come to mind that I should be focusing on quilts that don't focus on flowers! I love plaids and country colors and the current "Warm Cabin Getaway" sounds like it fits the bill.
First though, I'm finishing up my identical twin granddaughters's baby quilts (they will be a year old in 3 weeks!). 2 binders machined onto 1 and finishing some additional handquilting in the other and that needs binding too. Need to embroider (by hand) labels for the backsides. Did 30's nursery prints on Kona Snow baqckgrounds, 8" blocks -- one is Goose Tracks and the other is a variation of Ribbon Star. I don't machine quilt unless I have to as handquilting is my preference.
I still have their parent's scrappy Dresden Plate from charm swaps to finish adding yellow sawtooth borders to and then beginning the hand quilting -- their eldest is already 3 1/2 --- I'd best get going!
I love hand applique and am currently working on the Mystery blocks at the Jan Patek site plus active in a couple other online blocks and fabrics swaps.
So glad to be here -- and so thankful this group hasn't totally disappeared!
