We went to Charlotte NC on Saturday (in preparation for g'daughters half-time performance at the Panthers game). We had a super neat room at the Hyatt. I was impressed! We went to SouthPark Mall Saturday evening and oogled & awed at the different stores (Abercrombie & Fitch, Nordstroms, Neimans, etc). Didn't buy a dang thing! LOL We had dinner at an Italian restaraunt which I can't pronounce nor spell the name...or even tell you what it was we ate! It wasn't your typical spaghetti. Topped off the evening with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory with slices of cheesecake to eat back in our super neat room. We got up early Sunday morning and headed out to eat breakfast. After breakfast, we decided to let the GPS lead us around Charlotte since we had time to spare before heading to the stadium. And where did we go??? The Billy Graham Library... It looked like a lovely place....while I stood behind the gate peering in. It was closed!!! It was Sunday!!!! How could Billy Graham lock me out on Sunday???? LOL Anyway, we didn't get to tour the library BUT I did find a hubcap lying in the entrance...so I think that was God's will...divine intervention...LOL. That hubcap is now hanging up with the rest of my collection. |

This morning dawned bright and sunny...a little on the cool side though. We decided to head on up to Willow Springs to an Estate Auction. After arriving there, we quickly found out that they really didn't have anything we needed (as if we need anything)...but Mr T2 did find a couple of old weight scales to add to his collection. We stayed about an hour before heading for home. We took the back roads, and the ride was beautiful. Did I take pictures of the leaves...or any of the fall colors??? Nopers. I guess I was too busy looking to think about snapping pics! LOL Anyway Lesley...here's a pic that Anna snapped of us as we were getting ready to head back home. |

Oops...hit that send button a little too quick. I'm not sure about the bootleg tobacco business! LOL I do know that it is an expensive crop to grow...seedlings, fertilizing, harvesting, drying, etc runs up into the big bucks. And of course, the govt has stuck their finger into the pie. A few years ago, there was a "Tobacco Buyout"...paying farmers NOT to plant tobacco, so for a while, there were fewer & fewer fields of the golden leaved manna. That little donkey was the cutest thing! Shortly after I had snapped that picture, we walked back by him...and he was stretched out...taking his siesta. Cute, cute, cute. We didn't have any of the grandkids with us at the fair...thank gawd! LOL But with all the animals around our house...they don't get too excited to see animals at the fair. |

Electric bill??? That small??? Not a chance That was his last will & testament..written up a neat roadside stand for a small fee. OK Lesley...here's one more....and before you ask any questions...please know that I refuse to answer any questions related to this pic...including why I'm sitting in what appears to be a overgrown garden...behind an oscillating fan...and why there is police tape behind me. LOL |
