Earlier on today - early evening so it was quite dark, especially in this village with little or no street lighting, I had to pop round to see Sue, so DH said, take the car, it is bitterly cold outside.

Sue lives down a country lane - 8 houses then farms.  It is a narrow country lane.

I got there ok, no problem, it is only 5 minutes drive.  When I came to leave, I could not back out of her drive and go in the proper direction due to how some people had parked on the roadside, so Sue said just drive a bit further down the road and use that farmers driveway for turning............so I did.

She waved to me as I then drove past her going the right way home.

When I got home, DH came out and said Sue was on the phone so I got out of the car and went to talk to her.........................

It seems that when I backed into the farmers drive area, and touched bumpers with what I thought was shrubbery, I had somehow managed to link up a little box trailer thingy.............and brought it home with me

Now I know why Sue was waving at me when I passed her!

She said that the farmer will probably not have noticed, but if she wants me to go and explain to him why I had stolen his trailer, she would meet me there!  DH would not take it back for me, so I had to get back in the car, and that is when I noticed this box thing hooked onto my bumper, so I got some string to tie it on properly  then I had to drive to Sue's house and we unhooked the trailer thingy and, under cover of the dark, we pushed the trailer back to where it probably was.

I am surprised he didn't hear our giggles

The awful thing is................this is the second time I have done this...............first time was several years ago when I had to turn the car around in a lane next to the church and finished up taking someone's trailer home with me

LOL Rob - you made me laugh, but it made me think.................maybe I need to wear a disguise when I drive you all.

I know that in Australia they still hang sheep rustlers  whereas in NZ they make you marry the sheep if you rustle it....

In England they just make you go and live in Moss Side -

I know they used to hang horse rustlers and cattle rustlers in the USA and I am not sure if they still do or not, and that makes me wonder whether they would hang mini-trailer rustlers too......so I think a disguise is the best idea............
