Mighty River From high upon mighty mountains,to lucious valleys below Curves the mighty river,in search of banks to over flow To look upon mighty river,so soft, does she seem Oh,but it be a ruse, with mighty power, does she scream The mighty oak, has she broken,as she bores out her rath The terror that reigns,as she rolls upon her destructive path Her beauty can turn to fury, with but a drenching storm An the land shall change its form,as over banks she swarms So respect this beauty of nature, when so peaceful, she may seem Remember, despite her beauty, the horror she maybe She is but a mighty force,as before you ,the river screams Oh,but to think, she was once a little stream Author : George A Bryant Jr. September 2,2004 2:51 AM EDT Copyright ©
I am not a poet my I have a stong believe that each moment of life we all make choices - good, bad or indiffert and those chioces affect everone around us, Each choic mad is like filling a ballon with air - the more people affected the more air in the balloon
That Last "Goodnight" From the day of one's birth There's no concept of time, one know's not where they're headed, nor what they'll leave behind Their journey is but a brief one, with no guarantees in life From the dawn of their beginning, Til that last "goodnight" Tis an existence Of many hills and valleys, many lessons for one's soul Til that last "goodnight",a struggle,of which one has no control Life is never fair, neither unfair You should know, tis but a lesson for our spirit Enabling us to grow So rejoice with your hills, take your valleys with stride Remember, life's a gift Where no guarantees abide George A Bryant Jr. 1/27/07 Copyright ©
Mother Earth Winds o'er the meadows, which bristles in the bright sunshine Wild flowers blowing, joining this beautifully windy chime New life is flourishing,a gorgously new creation Mother earth is so inspired,as we watch with great anticipation Though man has harmed her greatly,as for his selfish needs,he explores With disdain for her beauty, does he destroy Whilst earth's climate is changing. Man's damage is wide ranging, the profit he so desires Burning his world, maybe much beyond repair Can there be,but a new day dawning Where man ,with all his "genus",in his faults, he may soon be drowning When mother earth retaliates, man's fate may be at stake His world,he has so damaged The ability to sustain life, mother earth may soon,be unable to manage. This Question of Life This Question of life A need of which, one must suffice A longing,a seeking of knowledge This quest by man A need,he cannot admonish Man's search for purpose His need to know, the powers of life From whence do they flow Is there such a power An all "knowing - being" A great master plan, giving life meaning As man has purged Through the portals of time A search, seeming futile A life,he cannot define Is this knowledge not his destiny Is he not to know This beauty of life Of which,he has no control I say, accept this great gift Treasure it so There may be but one chance Of this,we may never know George A.Bryant Jr. 1/15/07 01:47 Copyright ©
All these poems are beautiful, THANK YOU BOTH.
Death,A journey of life Death appears so ominous An ending to a life,as we now know The thoughts of it all passing The earthly treasures,we adore Yet,could it not be a new beginning A new challenge for our soul Another notch in our "belt" A new lesson, allowing us to grow For life is but a stage For our spirit to expand To prepare us for death's journey So vital to the soul of man Auth: George A Bryant Jr. November 13,2005 Copyright ©
Life's Lessons When one embarks upon this journey of life One shall, through out theyears, encounter much strife The obstacles will be many more, than one at times can bear But the rewards will be plentiful,if one would, but not despair Life is but a classroom for our souls to retrieve The many lessons in this world, our soul shall receive And there shall be good,as well as the bad,as will the times we shall also be sad Thus shall come the times upon which we may grieve As well as the lessons of love, our souls shall so desperately need We must accept this precious gift of life As well, the lessons that shall accompany the strife Tis lessons so important to ones's soul,as upon its journey,it must go As it continues on its restless path, when our time on earth shall end ,at last Author : George A Bryant Jr. 9/11/04 10:41pm EDT Copyright ©

What I'd Like From You! I'd like you to be the final missing piece of my happiness that makes me feel complete! I'd like you to be there for all my tomorrows to come...to walk beside me, behind me or ahead of me when you know the way! I'd like you to accept me as I am... with all my imperfections. I'd like you to accept the fact that we won't always agree...that we will argue to prove a point! But I'd like you to know I didn't fight against you my darling, only for what I felt was right. I'd like you never to keep score as to who won, who lost, never hold anger. I'd like you to show me once we have set aside a disagreement, that you still love me as much then...as you have in the past, and even more in the future. I'd like you to never turn your back to me when we lay in our bed, that you will never raise your hand in anger, or use words you know will crush my heart! I'd like you to be understand that sometimes I may feel blue, and that even I may not know why. Just be there to hold me and comfort me, and help me through it all. I'd like you to share your kisses, hugs, and the softly whispered "I love you darling" as often as you can...but I want it to be whispered sincerely, not because you feel you have too. I'd like to know that no matter what I may do wrong, you will be forgiving. I'd like evening walks, walks in the rain, sunsets enjoyed best when we watch the velvet sun dip beyond the horizon as we kiss! I'd like you to show an interest in what I enjoy, what I am creative in. I'd like to hear your compliment now and then for what I have worked hard to do. It may seem unimportant to you, just a little thing I've done, but my love, to feel you noticed and took the time to notice means the world to me. I'd like you to take my breath away and fill our bedroom with my softest sighs because I give my love, my heart and my soul to only you! I'd like you to surprise me now and then with a love note hidden where I least expect it, or flowers for no other purpose but to show me "I was on your mind"! I'd like you to be all you can be and I promise that if you fell short of success, not only would I understand, but my arms would be waiting to hold you! I'd like you to remember that we are a team...and that regardless of the challenge facing us, we face it as a team, never alone. I'd like most to know in my heart that you feel you chose the right person to love you, that no wall will come between us, that life truly does feel wonderful when we have someone special in our life. I'd like you to believe as I do, that a relationship is a reflection of the effort two people put into the life they share together. © 2006 Raymond Cook (All rights reserved)
