went to bed around a quarter after 1, and when the alarm went off at 4:30 there they were! (i knew she was going to do that, i wanted to see them!). she had just two and they were all clean and dry, one spooked when i went in there to check. they were fairly alert already, and this morning they are hyper! poor Angel, im sure shes glad they are out, although they are still making it hard for her to rest, climbing on her and under her! at least now though she has that option of getting up and leaving them, lol. the babies look great, both are dark, one is red and greyish brown, with white on one back leg (looks different on each side, like mom) the other has a bit less red and a white blaze on his/her face. both seem to be abbysinian, im not sure if they will have the crazy long fur their mommy is growing. i have no idea about boys/girls! im hoping for one of each. i was so sure she had 3 in there, and her bedding was a bit bloody when i found them, so i was hoping she was still delivering. the babies are huge! i have no idea how she managed to deliver, but shes doing great, eating and drinking very well, and snuggling with them. she gave them good baths earlier, and shes been nursing them off and on. they are starting to follow her everywhere, but they are pretty quick to go back to the corner they were born and cuddle up and wait for her. she was bleeding a bit an hour and a half ago, but it stopped, luckily. i was afraid maybe there was still one who didnt come out. but i think she just has a tear. i will try and get some pics with the polaroid to scan and post. i have taken a couple of regular pics which i will get developed later this week and post. |

these arent the best pics, the babies are dark and i havent figured out how to change the brightness/darkness on the polaroid, but i will have some better ones soon. for size, think hamsters; they are about the same size as Teddy. ive either got two boys or one of each; the one with the blaze im pretty sure is a boy, the other i think (?) is a girl. no names as of yet; im kinda waiting till i know for sure. they are hyper! |

thanks for the pics..just two i would imagine would make it easier on angel and for you to take care of..not sure how many babies a guinea pig can have though but with other litters..in my experience..if there are too many some of the babies can get left behind or overlooked sometimes by the mama if there are alot of them so you gottta watch out for them..so this way all of angels attention will be just on her two babies..less stress for her and you..they will be very well adjusted and happy babies..cool..iam also sure in time the names for the babies will come up when you get to know their personalities....take care.. |

Cute little fuzz-balls, aren't they? I'm not gonna show the kitties these pics, lol, we see "cute pets", they see "tasty rodents"......... As long as momma Angel is fine, it's all good eh? 'Cause the little ones sure look ok! |
