a while back i promised pictures of my first flock of parakeets.  in going through and freeing up storage space, i found these in a bird group im in, and saved them.  im reposting a few here, and will add stories a bit later:

April, our 2nd parakeet (April 20, 1985)  quite a character she was!

Sweet-Pea, my 2nd parakeet (September 1985)  Sweet-Pea was sick when i got her and required extra feedings, so became very tame and spoiled.  i was 10 at the time, and carried her around everywhere.

Sparky, Aprils mate (1986)  he was so sweet i tamed him at the pet store where my mom and i were working back in '86; one afternoon i came home from school, and there he was on my dresser!

Sweet-Pea, Sparky, and Jackie (named after our first Jackie, an albino i dont have a picture for, who we had around 1986)  Jackie is April and Sparky's first baby, born January 15, 1989, and died June 12, 1989.  she had one sibling who was born January 17, 1989, and died soon after.

April and Sparky's second clutch.  i lost one out of this clutch.  Scooter, top corner, born June 4, 1989; Skeeter, middle, born June 3, 1989, and Josh, born June 8, 1989.  the baby i lost was born june 7, 1989, and was about 10 days old,  i had named him/her Chipper, but never got a pic.  i wasnt expecting blues, so was very surprised when Skeeter and Scooter feathered out!

the whole flock in fall of 1989, i think:  April, Sweet-Pea, Sparky, Scooter, Josh, and Skeeter.

Josh required handfeeding during the day, and i put him back in with mon and dad at night.  Sweet-Pea was not happy having to share me, and was jealous and wary of Josh:

she was a bit better in this pic; i think curiosity won out in the end!

these are just cute; Trixie was a poodle-terrier mix, but the sweetest dog i knew around little critters.  these are of her and Josh:
