Feng Shui In The Home Your KUA number
By Lillian Too (Easy to use Feng Shui)
The best way to start in the practice of personal feng shui is first to determine the four corners of your living spacethat are the most auspicious for you. These will be your "lucky spots" in any room, office or apartment you occupy. Sitting ,sleeping or working in any of these four specific locations will generally bring you good luck, and protect you from bad luck. The formula used for identifying these lucky locations is part of what is called Compass School feng shui.
Your KUA Number
To determine your auspicious directions you will need to calculate your KUA number.
*If you were born between January 1- February 20 you will need to check the date on which the lunar New Year occurred in your year of birth. See Lunar Calendar Conversion chart below. If you were born before the New Year, you must subtract one year from your year of birth before proceeding to make the calculation of the KUA number, for example, if you were born on February 7, 1964 then you should count your year of birth as 1963. This is because in that year the lunar New Year occurred on February 13.
Once you have ascertained your correct lunar year of birth , you can proceed to calculate your KUA number using this simple formula. Take the two digits of your year of birth and add the numbers . Keep adding until it is reduced to a single number, for example , if your year of birth is 1968, adding 6+8 will equal 14, then adding 1+4 will equal 5. Then if you are male you should deduct your final number from 10, so 10-5= 5 So your KUA number is 5. if you are female you should add 5 to your final number , so 5+5=10 and then 1+0 =1 so the KUA number is 1 for a female born in 1968.
