 Bogies

These mischievous beings are known by many names:  Bogeymen, Bogles, Bog-a-boos, Boggies, and Bogey-beasts.  Residents of the Isle of Man know them as Boggans.  The Irish branch of these creatures is called Ballybogs and are not as intelligent as those found elsewhere.

Bogies prefer to keep out of human sight.  Their form is vague, appearing more as a puff of dust or a wispy wavering in the air.  However, their hollow, gleaming eyes reveal their true character.  Since Bogies like to create an atmosphere of chaos and disruption, they tend to live where they have ample opportunities to do this, such as cluttered closets, basements, caves, hollow trees, and sometimes even under the sink.

They usually come out only at night, but may appear when everything is very quiet during the day.  One of their favorite activities is to hover behind humans and pets and make them uneasy.

Under ordinary circumstances, Bogies are not a threat to humans.  However, it is best to never invite them into your home or ritual circle.  Once given an invitation, Bogies can be extremely difficult to evict.  Their annoying antics, although not malicious, can be very troublesome.
