Centurian's Tale

There that day they say I was blessed;
Following orders although I detest.
Who was this one the messiah they say;
Cursed me he did on that darkest day.
Upon the hill of skulls galgotha was its name;
My spear did pierce his side was my claim to fame.
Centurian was my possision,my rank,my life;
I was a soldier my unit was my wife.
I had no need for family I had no need for love;
For I was a fighting man my enemies before me were drove.
Why my lot was cast for me I will never know;
Now to live forever as a soldier I will go.
From one battle to the next this prince of peace did curse;
It is written well in the scriptured verse.
For he looked down at me and with his final words of pain;
As you are so shall you be untill we meet again.
I ask you then who is this man come to save the day;
A prince of peace who'd curse man and make him live this way.
I have lived sense that day never finding peace;
I long for the day i may rest and all my fighting cease.
So hurry you,come back to me ;
For I'm weary and tired my ending do I seek.
Just to say it clear so you'll understand;
I was following orders and for that I was damned.
