Dream Meanings

Meanings are distorted reflections in the water
from the tiny ripples on the surface.
One must look passed the distorted images
to see what is really there.
Sometimes, we see the truth clearly.
Sometimes, we only capture a glimpse.
Sometimes, it simply eludes us forever
and we never gain insight
into why they revealed themselves in the first place.
Sometimes...
meanings are hidden at the bottom
where the darkness swallows everything
and the light cannot shine
as in the depths of the ocean,
still unexplored,
unimagined,
unfathomable.
It is difficult to see that far down.
It is difficult to hear that far down.
It is difficult to travel that far.
Sometimes...
Meanings simply disappear
as suddenly as they arrive -
fleeting moments between this world and the next -
as we awaken from our dreams,
groggy and helpless,
and the truth slips through our fingertips
with the dust in the rays
of the morning sunlight...
gone forever the moment we open our eyes.
