The Gypsy's Gift
by James Gower
Sept.28th,2002
She danced her dance and weaved a spell
The words she sang I dare not tell
Around the fire she would twirl and whirl
She stole my heart this beautiful gypsy girl
Her eyes so alive she sparked my soul
Burning desire passion untold
Was she real was this a dream
Was I still in slumber ore by the stream
Was it may haps a memory my dreams they do revive
Telling a tale from long ago of a love contrived
For as I watched her in her dance I felt she was in fear
There was another close at hand bidding her to near
On her face the worry there contorted by fire light
Her eyes now blazed twas not fear was now in shear delight
A glint of steel an out streched hand her blade has found its mark
The attacker now on the ground draining his lifes spark
I look again and she sees me to her words bid me go
I'll find you again my one true love but this you have to know
He was my owner I'm just a slave , we can not hope to live
So run my love to freedoms arms tis the gift I give
For we will be together in another place and time
But for now im just a dream in the corner of your mind
Awaked now and on the breeze I smell her faint perfume
Twas not a dream she was here I feel her love consume
But as I look around again and see twas just a dream
I fall upon my knees and cry to the heaven I do scream
She was my all my everything why did she have to die
Once again I hear her voice saying shhhh dont you cry
I still live on each night it seems hidden in your dreams
And we will be together love its in the higher scheme
For you must learn to rule in just and lay all fear aside
Then my love I shall return and rule there as your bride
The End
