Between uses, clean pot and filter cup with hot soapy water and bleach and rinse ·
When brewing decoctions place the root / bark in filter, closing the filter securely by tying it with string or rubber band. After brew cycle place the filter in the pot let it sit for 30 mins on a warming plate Blender

When working with dry ingredients, only add 2 to 3 tablespoons at one time. This is to keep the blender from overheating. ·
Always clean in between use. Clean with rubbing alcohol and a cup of water. Dry with paper towel. By cleaning this way it removes herbal oils - extracts, odours and plant vibrations. ·
With powdering gums add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to prevent powder from gumming up around the blades. ·

Making oils in your slow cooker!

One part herbal mixture to one part of vegetable oil ·
Stir well ·
Check oil every 6 to 8 hours for scent ·
If fragrance isn’t strong enough, strain oil and add another helping of herbs ·
Repeat until its to your liking ·
A 12 hours cooking process usually produces an excellent product ·
Let cool and strain, bottle and don’t forget to label ·
You can add a chant to help charge your oil while it is heating. Or chant while adding the mixture to the pot the first time and every time you stir or add herbs. Tips when making your oils!

Use the lowest setting available on your appliance to prevent scorching ·
Use a light, unscented vegetable or fruit oil eg grape seed oil and jojoba oil. Vegetables can be heavier and turn rancid. For oil you intend to use quickly, regular cooking oil would work. ·
With fresh herbs bruise them first to release their oils ·
Keep lid on the pot except when checking. Wipe moisture from inside of the lid before you place it back on. Note: this information was gathered from the book Every day magic
