MORNING

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. John 17:15

Blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Phil. 2:15

Ye are the salt of the earth.... the light of the world. Matt. 5:13, 14

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:16

I also withheld thee from sinning against me. Gen. 20:6

The Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. II Thess. 3:3

So did not I, because of the fear of God. Neh. 5:15

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. Gal. 1:4

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever Amen. Jude 21, 25

EVENING

Whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. (Or, set on high.) Prov. 29:25

The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high. Isa. 33:5

The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that he may set him with princes. Psa. 113:4, 7, 8

God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:4-6

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us ail things? For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 8:32, 38, 39

MORNING

The Lord will not cast off for ever: but though he cause griefs yet will he have compassion. Lam. 3:31, 32

Fear thou not.... saith the LORD: for I am with thee; ... I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure. Jer. 46:28

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. Isa. 54:7, 8, 10, 11

I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. Micah 7:9

<><><><><><>

EVENING

God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. I Cor. 1:27

When the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud.... a man lefthanded. After him was Shamgar... which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel. Judg. 3:15, 31

The LORD looked upon [Gideon], and said, Go in this thy might: ... have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, O my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. Judg. 6:14, 15

The LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me.... lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. Judg. 7:2

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zech. 4:6

My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph. 6:10

MORNING

He hath prepared for them a city. Heb. 11:16

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3

An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. I Pet. 1:4

Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Heb. 13:14

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:11

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:7, 8

Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Heb. 10:37

We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I Thess. 4:17, 18

<><><><><>

EVENING

Base things of the world hath God chosen. I Cor. 1:28

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:9-11

You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind. Eph. 2:1-3

According to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 3:5, 6

My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isa. 55:8

EVENING

He hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure. II Sam. 23:5

I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. II Tim. 1:12

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. Eph. 1:3-5

We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Rom. 8:28-30

MORNING

The house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical. I Chron. 22:5

Ye ... as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house. I Pet. 2:5

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. I Cor. 3:16, 17

Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. I Cor. 6:19, 20

What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. II Cor. 6:16

Ye ... are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit. Eph. 2:19-22

EVENING

He is before all things. Col. 1:17

The Amen; the beginning of the creation of God. Rev. 3:14

The beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence. Col. 1:18

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: when he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep; when he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment. I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him. Prov. 8:22, 23, 27-30

Yea, before the day was I am He. Isa. 43:13

The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev. 13:8

The author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2

August 17

MORNING

Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. James 5:16

Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. Gen. 18:27, 28

Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:24

Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Matt. 5:44

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. John 17:9, 20

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Gal. 6:2

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. James. 5:16, 17

EVENING

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. Psa. 103:15, 16

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psa. 90:12

What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36

Surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Isa. 40:7, 8

The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. I John 2:17

Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. II Cor. 6:2

Use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. I Cor. 7:31

Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb. 10:24, 25

August 18

MORNING

What God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might? Deut. 3:24

Who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Psa. 89:6, 8

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. Psa. 86:8

For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. II Sam. 7:21, 22

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. I Cor. 2:9, 10

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children. Deut. 29:29

~~~~~~
EVENING
He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. I Cor. 1:31
Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD. Jer. 9:23, 24
I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Phil. 3:8
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. Rom. 1:16
I have ... whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. Rom. 15:17
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. Psa. 73:25
My heart rejoiceth in the LORD. I rejoice in thy salvation. I Sam. 2:1
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Psa. 115:1
MORNING
As he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. I Pet. 1:15
Ye know how we exhorted ... and charged every one of you, ... that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. I Thess. 2:11, 12
Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. I Pet. 2:9
Ye were sometime darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Eph. 5:8-11
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. Phil. 1:11
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:16
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. I Cor. 10:31
EVENING
Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. Isa. 45:11
A new heart ... will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them. Ezek. 36:26, 27, 37
If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matt. 18:19, 20
Have faith in God. Verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:22, 23
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Heb. 13:8
His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psa. 91:4
God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath; that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Heb. 6:17, 18
The faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations. Deut. 7:9
EVENING
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Prov. 24:10
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isa. 40:29
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. II Cor. 12:9
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him. Psa. 91:15
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee. Deut. 33:27
I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. Psa. 69:20
Every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God,. . . who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way: so also Christ.... though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Heb. 5:1, 2, 5, 8, 9
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows. Isa. 53:4
All things are yours; . . . and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. I Cor. 3:21, 23
Our Saviour Jesus Christ ... gave himself for us. Titus 2:13, 14
God gave him to be the head over all things to the church. Eph. 1:22
Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:25, 27
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord. Psa. 34:2
O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. Psa. 16:2, 5, 6
EVENING
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Prov. 14:12
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa. 119:105
Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. Psa. 17:4
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. Deut. 13:1-4
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye. Psa. 32:8
MORNING
None of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. Rom. 14:7
Whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. Rom. 14:8
Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. I Cor. 6:20
Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better. Phil. 1:20-23
I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:19, 20
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Phil. 2:6-8
The love of Christ which passeth knowledge. Eph. 3:19
Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. I Cor. 1:24
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2:3
The unsearchable riches of Christ. Eph. 3:8
Of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Cor. 1:30
He that watereth shall be watered. Prov. 11:25
MORNING
The free gift is of many offences unto justiflcation. Rom. 5:16
Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa. 1:18
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. Isa. 43:25, 26
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. Isa. 44:22
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Rom. 5:15
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11
