The Old Testament Covenant had a certain set of laws, priests, prophets, rituals, place of worship, day of worship, and manner of worship. But, all of that was changed when the New Testament Covenant was established. It is of utmost importance to know this and abide by it. They are two completely different Covenants. You cannot belong to and keep both of them at the same time. You must completely leave one and cleave to the other one. They cannot co-exist. So, it very important to understand the differences in these two covenants and then decide which one you will try to abide by.

For the sake of not making this message too long, I will not try to quote all the Scriptures used in it. But will give you Scriptures to study which will make this clear. If you desire truth, study these Scriptures and pray and God will open it up to you.

11Cor. 3:1-18---

v6---Paul says God made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, (meaning the law) but of the spirit (meaning grace): for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. Now, if there is no difference in the covenants, why would Paul say they were made ministers of the new testament? Keep in mind , it is not speaking of the Old Testament Scriptures and the New Testament Scriptures. It means the covenants by which we relate to God.

v7---Speaks of the glory of Moses countenance he had when receiving the law; which glory was to BE DONE AWAY.

v9--calls it the ministration of condemnation.

v10 &11--shows that the one remaining was much more glorious.

v14--But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.

v15---But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

v16--Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

This shows that until one turns to the Lord, they will have a veil of darkness in their understanding; which means they still believe in keeping the things of the old covenant.

Heb.7: This whole chapter deals with the changing of the old covenant priesthood to the new priesthood of Jesus.

v11---If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedic, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12--For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW.

This is saying that the old testament law does not go with the priesthood of Jesus; he has a new law, the royal law spoken of in James; the law of love.

v14--For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

v18---For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

v19---For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

v22---By so much was Jesus made a surety of a BETTER TESTAMENT.

chp.8:6-13---But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a BETTER COVENANT, which was established upon BETTER PROMISES.

v7---For if that first covenant had been FAULTLESS, THEN SHOULD NO PLACE HAVE BEEN SOUGHT FOR THE SECOND.

Chapter nine tells of the rituals of the old covenant.V8--The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was NOT YET MADE MANIFEST, WHILE AS THE FIRST TABERNACLE WAS YET STANDING.,,,

v10---Which stood only in MEATS AND DRINKS, AND DIVERS WASHINGS, and CARNAL ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

So, this shows that the thing of eating or not eating certain meats, etc, were CARNAL ordinances. To be carnal minded is death; they never had ‘life?in the O.T. , not the spiritual life Jesus gives us.

v11---But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and MORE PERFECT TABERNACLE, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building.

v15--For this cause he (Jesus) is the mediator of the NEW TESTAMENT, ...... . This is how we receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

chp. 10:1-4---For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can NEVER WITH THOSE SACRIFICES which they offered year by year continually, make the comers thereunto perfect.

v4---For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Heb.8:13---In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to VANISH AWAY.

Now this is going a long way to prove that the first (old) covenant was done away with. And there are many, many more Scriptures proving this: but, I must shorten this some.

But, you must understand that the old covenant was done away with, to be able to understand the right way to worship God today. This includes circumcision, tithing, Sabbath keeping, killing sheep for sins, an earthly priest to intercede for us, the keeping of holy days, being unable to eat certain meats, having a man-made tabernacle, having the natural Jews as God’s chosen people everything about it.

Gal. 5:14---For ALL the law if fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Gal.4:10---Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

v11--I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

The rest of this chapter shows that the law keepers are the ones after the flesh, the ones persecuting the children of promise, the ones in grace.

Gal 5:18--But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW.

Gal.3:10-29-- All of this proves the doing away with of the law.

V11----No man is justified by the law.......

v10---As many as are of the works of the law are under the curse... so to try to keep the law, as such, is to be under a curse.

v13---Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.....

Gal.5:1-4---- v4---Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; YE ARE FALLEN FROM GRACE.

Read Isaiah 1--- In this chapter the old covenant is condemned and the new covenant is taught.

v11---...I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

v13---Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is INIQUITY, even the solemn meeting.

v14---Your new moons and your appointed feast my soul HATETH: .....

Here, God is saying that he hates all the old testament feasts, sabbaths,, the entire way of worship. So, I cannot see why New Testament Christians dote so on going back to those old feasts and Sabbaths , tithing, etc.

Isa.66:3--He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol.

This shows a time when the old covenant way of worship would be a total abomination to God. The rest of the chapter shows that the people of faith and an humble heart (new testament Christians) are the ones pleasing God.

So why would anyone in our day want to go back to that????????

You that glory in natural Israel, old wailing walls, an old man-made temple, a nation of natural Israel, etc. don’t you see that this is not of God???? And the keeping of the O.T. law, any part of it, don’t you see that it is done away with????????? That entire way of life was done away with. If you think God will go back to those natural Jews as such, then you would have to also see that in order to do that, he would have to do away with the New Testament Covenant, its laws, way of worship (in spirit and truth) everything about it, (grace), and go back to the Old Testament Covenant, with all its laws, Levitical priesthood, rituals, (which he hated) and everything to do with it???? Don’t you see that there is no way that is going to happen?

When you read about future blessings of ‘Israel, Jews, or Jerusalem?it is talking about the New Testament Christians, the people of faith, the Jew who is one inward, in the heart, the only ones who ever pleased God; the Israel of God.

Every thing with the old testament Jews, their way of life has been done away with forever. I hope this message helps many of you see this important truth. I will do some more messages on the separate parts, such as Sabbath keeping and other things confusing people as a follow-up of this message.

God bless all who read this.

Jo

1Tim-1-16-Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

001:002 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

001:003 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

001:004 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

001:005 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

001:006 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

001:007 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

001:008 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 001:009 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

001:010 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

001:011 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

001:012 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

001:013 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

001:014 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

001:015 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 001:016 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Isaiah, I really saw so clearly from what you posted that the law is only for those who commit those sins.  You know, we should have made the connection before;  for the Word said,  The Law was  ADDED    BECAUSE  of sins.

Now, so those of us who have been totally  CLEANSED  by the blood of Jesus are no longer committing those sins;  so we do not need a law over us.  Glory!!  Never quite got this so clear before.  We are not sinners,  so we need no law.  There is no law against the attributes we possess through Jesus.

Remember Paul laid out the good things of Holiness and said  against such things there is  NO  LAW.

Then those who profess to be still under the law confess that they are still sinners.

Spiritwalker really brought out a good point when she pointed to what Paul said that He was determined to know only Jesus and Him crucified;  she said this does NOT  INCLUDE THE  LAW.

See, how Jesus uses different ones to bring this whole truth together.  That is so good.

God bless you all.
