Divine landscaping
by Pastor Simon
Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
Hosea 10:12 - NKJV
A life is not built overnight. It takes time for things to grow. It takes time to gently change the landscape of your life. If you've recently come to Christ or recently decided to get serious about your relationship with God then your life is probably in need of some divine landscaping. The scene of your life at present may look overgrown with briers or even look barren and uncultivated. Whatever the situation, now that you are in Christ it can all change for the better.
There's a wonderful story in the Book of Acts about a lady called Lydia. She heard the apostle Paul preach. As she listened she experienced the word he ministered as a word sown in her heart by the Holy Spirit. It had such an effect that it led to her and her whole household receiving new lives in Christ. Similarly, whenever you allow the God's word to enter your heart as seed then good things are germinated or conceived in you. Nurture those good things and there will come a tangible manifestation of them in the physical realm. You will reap the good they bring to your life! Act.16:14-15.
It's not what's sown in your mind that gives the landscape of your life. Rather it's what's sown in your heart. Your heart has the conditions where God's Word can bear fruit. The Holy Spirit will water the word sown in your heart. It's what's sown in your heart that will grow up and bring forth fruit in due season. To experience the life-change Lydia experienced, pray and ask God to open your heart to receive His Word.
Your heart is a garden for God's Word

Thanks for the report. I sure pray your sister will be comforted in this suffering. It is a hard thing to have to go through. You are so nice to stay with her and help her through it. Yes, it is nice to have the grandchildren. I had three of mine here today and my daughter, and we went out together and had a good time. I miss them so much when they leave and I am all along again. Guess that is one reason I spend so much time on the computer. i love to discuss the Word of God and try to teach what little I know. Jo |
