1Cor. 12: 12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
I wrote earlier to tell Imloved that she did a great answer; but the computer threw it away and me offline. So here me is again trying to do this.
This thing of becoming 'sons' of God is an ongoing thing. It is not something which just happens in an instant and that is forever as most people think.
sure we must make a start. And that is the way to get that good start. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALT BE (future tense) saved.
As many as believed on his name, gave he the POWER TO BECOME (again future tense) sons of God.
so now, we are getting somewhere.
By one Spirit are we are BAPTIZED into the one BODY of Christ. We have thus put on Christ. Now we have Christ in us the hope of glory. Glory meaning future tense resurrection into glorification.
Gal. 3: 26. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Now see, by that Baptism of the Holy Ghost into the body of Christ we have put on Christ. So now he is in us and we are in him. Now if we endure until the end, do not fall by the wayside, do not go back to law, live for God in righteousness and Holiness the rest of our lives, then we shall come out of the grave a SON OF GOD IN THE LIKENESS AND GLORY OF GOD AS JESUS DID AT HIS RESURRECTION.
Thanks for this thread. It is good.
