I wanted to do something for Christmas presents and decided to Stain Glass Angels.  I had done 1 before under the tutelage of my teacher last year.  This year I wanted to do them on my own so I bought the soldering iron, foil and patina etc.  I already had the glass cutting tools and grinder.  These first pictures are my first attempts.  They are kind of funky and some have an attitude.  I learn from my mistakesand I am sure the untrained eye can see a few.  The individual pictures are my latest attempts and I am slowly getting better.

Oh Crikey, you are so clever!! I think they are just wonderful!! what lovely gifts! and they will treasure them for ever I'm sure!
Many, many years ago when I was a little girl our school had a day trip to York Cathedral, and it was a bright sunny day, and I can remember now standing stock still on entering, as if in shock when I saw those fantastic windows with the sun pouring in through them, they were just dazzling! Brillant shimmering colours! and from that moment, thats what I wanted to do!
Stained glass work.
But sadly it wasn't meant to be, I had to leave school to help pay the bills, and when I could afford to go after I got married and my kids were old enough I had damaged my back so am unable to bend for any length of time, and certainly couldn't move large pieces around, so my dream was not meant to be.
Keep up your lovely work.

Lots of Love Mary.xxxxxxx

They are gorgeous Wendy, I'm sure they will become family treasures that you look forward to hanging each year.
Roll on retirement, that's what I say........there are so many things that I want to try, but just can't fit in at the moment.
Keep those pictures coming, they certainly cheer me up.
love,
Gilly.

Gosh, what a lot of clever and talented members we have.  These look fabulous Wendy.  If these are your first attempts, it looks like you're going to be producing even more wonderful work.  You're going to have some pretty pleased friends when they get these in presents!

Luv Pansy

Well done that woman!  There you were moaning about the soldering (which I understand isn't easy) but just look at our member's reactions.
I think they turned out just great Wendy and you've been creating little heirlooms for your family instead of raiding Walmart
Thanks for letting us see them
Luv and Hugs     Bee
