Playing with ideas as one does and wondered if it is OK to set small glass pebbles into cement to be outdoors all year round? An alternative would be a mini mosaic but not sure that I could work so close to the ground while creating it. It is the upright to a step I am thinking of, wondering to leave it as just boring cement or maybe brighten it up a little. Dont you just love playing with ideas lol. Thanks in advance. Liz. |

Surprising what can be used.i saw a path edging done with blue glass bottles cemented upside down.only the bottoms could be seen.also saw a wall made out of assorted coloured wine bottles cemented to gether.with outdoor fairy lights pushed into some of the bottles. another pretty idea is a terracotta flowerpot mosaiced with old bits of china....... |

I don't see why it shouldn't work Lis. As it's the upright bit you're thinking about, it shouldn't get slippery. It sounds really pretty. Luv Pansy |

That sounds a good idea Liz and very unusual too....maybe even add a solar garden-light next to the step so that you get shiny reflections during the evenings? As for playing with ideas.....plenty of ideas here....that never come to fruition Visit the sea-shore....pick up shells ( tut tut naughty I know).....will do this and that with them in the garden......and where are they?......yep!! still in a box somewhere......lol Helen |

I like the sounds of that Liz, what a good idea. Hmm, they sell packets of those coloured glass pebbles at our $1 store and I've sometimes wondered what I could do with them, so cheap and so pretty. I've thought about putting them on the top of a small table for outside so thanks for jogging my memory! Luv and Hugs Bee |

I once saw a Garden wall that had been inset with cut down wine bottles - the champagne ones were really effective! |
