Austin Baked Beans

Traditional baked bean flavor with a Texas flair. Everything you like about baked beans but the cayenne pepper gives this family favorite a little kick.

Recipe Details

15 minutes

Cook Time:

3 hours

 

 

Servings:

Ingredients

2 12 oz cans of Northern White Beans
1 12 oz can of pork & beans
1/4 pound bacon, diced
1 small onion, finely diced
3 tablespoons molasses
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoon A-1 Steak Sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325º F.
  2. Drain and rinse Northern White Beans.
  3. In a bowl, combine molasses, cayenne pepper, dry mustard, ketchup, A-1 Steak Sauce, salt, pepper and brown sugar. Mix well and then add drained & rinsed white beans, un-drained pork & beans, diced uncooked bacon and diced onions.
  4. Pour into a casserole and cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
  5. Bake for 3 hours in the preheated oven. Remove the lid about halfway through cooking, and give a good stir.
