Scientists have carried out the first facial reconstructions of Egypt's most famous ancient king, Tutankhamun.

Three teams of forensic artists - French, Egyptian and American - built separate but similar models of the king's face using scans of his skull.

Badger, there was a bit on MSNBC this past  evening showing the virtual reconstruction of Tutankhamun's face. I found it fascinating! I also almost fell on the floor (laughing) when one person mentioned his striking resemblance to Barbra Striesand....sans hair! They transposed a pic of Babs over Tut's...and they were right.

My weird and wacky moment for the night!

Leila,
It's great that they finally did do this facial reconstruction! One of the interesting details of the story is that the American and French team's versions looked different than the Egyptian team's version. Supposedly the version done by the Egyptian team was made to look more like a modern Egyptian...

You've got a point Leila...Babs and this Tutankamun reconstruction do look alot alike. Simular genetics between the two probably go waaaay back into the history of the Middle East and North Africa. The Jewish people a.k.a. Striesand's forebearers were held as slaves in Egypt after all...--L.B.

The more I compare the graphic reconstruction of Tut and Ms. Striesand the more I would swear they were related but for the separation of msny, msny centuries! But who knows, perhaps waaay back when perhaps their acnestors crossed paths (well, maybe a little more than cross paths...)  since as you said, the Jews were in Epypt then....

:-)
