I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream -- a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality: Martin Luther King, Jr.:

Afghanistan: Another Untold Story

By Michael Parenti

The war against Afghanistan, a battered impoverished country, continues to be portrayed in US official circles as a gallant crusade against terrorism. If it ever was that, it also has been a means to other things: destroying a leftist revolutionary social order, gaining profitable control of one of the last vast untapped reserves of the earth's dwindling fossil fuel supply, and planting US bases and US military power into still another region of the world.

The Last US Enemy Combatant

The Shocking Story of Ali al-Marri

By Andy Worthington

In brighter times, before a fog of fear descended on the United States, and the discourse of decent men and women was coarsened by an acceptance of the use of torture as a "no-brainer," it would have been inconceivable that an American could have been held for seven years without charge or trial on the US mainland, in a state of solitary confinement so debilitating that he is said to be suffering from "severe damage to his mental and emotional well-being.

Harper's Coup; Power grab in Ottawa

By Mike Whitney

The Prime Minister has been a staunch supporter of George Bush and the US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of his critics accuse him of being a neoconservative allied to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the Bilderburger Group. He is alleged to be a proponent of plans for a North American Union, which is an elitist scheme to end US sovereignty by merging the three countries-- Canada, the US, and Mexico--into one superstate.

Excellent article. The simple fact is that there's the exoteric US government and a more hidden government as well. The government that's presented to the American people and the world is basically symbolic and pure marketing. The hidden government of financial interests, lobbyists, and media controllers actually set the agenda in Washington D.C..

The hidden government demands an attack on Iran and they'll literally do anything to precipitate the attack. They are treacherous beyond the comprehension of normal, well-adjusted human beings.

Obama and his administration are mere window-dressing. I'd imagine that the elites will get their super-ef'n-crazy Iran attack by hook or by crook.

For a while I was optimistic that the Iran thing was a wash, but now I tend to think that it'll be a go in the end.
