Into our lives come many things to break the dull routine,

The things we had not planned on that happen unforeseen,

The unexpected little joys that are scattered on our way,

Success we did not count on or a rare, fulfilling day -

A catchy, lilting melody that makes us want to dance,

A nameless exaltation of enchantment and romance -

An unsought word of kindness, a compliment or two

That sets the eyes to gleaming like crystal drops of dew -

The unplanned sudden meeting that comes with sweet surprise

And lights the heart with happiness like a Rainbow in the skies...

Poetry by Helen Steiner Rice.

There's a "Miracle called friendship"
That dwells whithin the heart
and you don't know how It happens
or when it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a speecial Lift,
and you realise that Friendship...
Is God's Most Precious Gift!!

The Passionate Shepherd to his Love

Come live with me and be

 my love,
And we will all the
 pleasures prove,
That valleys, groves, hills, and fields,
Woods,

 or steepy mountain yields.

And we will sit upon the rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses,
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers and a kirtle
Embroider'd all with leaves of myrtle:

A gown made of the finest wool,
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold:

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my love.

The shepherd swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning;
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

Christopher Marlowe

1995 -1999.

You came to my front door, accompanied by my friend and her husband, I had not met you before, and you were about 18 months old.   You and I, immediately,fell in love with each other, and you did not leave my side during the whole of the visit.

Upon leaving, I went to get your leash, which was hanging on the door knob, and my friend hastily said, we won't need that because, you get on so well together, we are leaving him in your tender care.   My heart leaped with joy.

From that day on we were, inseperable, you and I, we were best pals, we went everywhere together, went for rides in the country, played games when the weather was too wet to go outside, snuggled up to each other, when the weather was cold, My Solomon!

 You were named Solomon, because you were wise, you knew I was deaf, and you would go to the phone, or the front door, to let me know if there was anyone there, running backwards and forwards, until you got my attention.

Then we took a long journey together, it took us two days to get to our destination, we were not there too long, when you became ill ....I rushed you to the "Doctor" but, alas I was too late.

I miss you My Solomon, my Love for you, I always will keep, deep in my heart, until again we do meet.
