The Belgium Government had more than 50 ships to ensure the link Ostend-Dover.
In the beginning the boats had the name of precious stones.  Later they had the name of different cities, to become afterwards the names of a few members of the royal family.
Often the Government Service had the fastest and the most beautiful ferries over the world.
