Another developement in NED's "outside of W2K" career. With the risk of breaking kay-fabe, it's found that his face is the same as anothers in PWT, and with the one-face rule, NED is blocked form becoming active again, even if he so chose. We caught up with NED for this comment:
NED: "Yeah, I've already announced that once my FWA story is finished, and my BWA story is finished, that I'd be closing out my career outside of W2K, and be exclusive to W2K only."
"But I had a new oppurtunity arrive, which I was hoping would give me an on-air role in PWT. But, witht he one-face rule, there's no way."
W2K.com: What about the other face, the Stevie Lee face?
NED just shook his head solemnly at us when we asked.
NED: "I was asked not to use that face anymore, as Stevie Lee has indeed passed away and even thugh I carried that look in his memory, someone close to him asked me- nicely, even- not to continue using it anymore. So any role I do have in PWT now has to be off-camera."
"I'm not sore about it. Rules are rules, and when you're in the business as long as I am, you just got no choice. You gotta abide by it. Now, two years ago, I would have said screw this, and been on PWT camera's anyway, but I have business oppurtunities now. W2K's not in a spt where we have to delcare ourselves sovreign. It's not like that anymore. PWT and W2K are on good terms, not as good as BWA and FWA, but still. There's possibilities for MSN:WA to sign on W2K and perhaps one day PWT and I don't want to jeapordaize that in any way, no matter how far off that is."
"I was asked about the RVD-face; but that's an impossibility because the RVD face is a whole other person. Longtime fans know that. I understand that PWT wouldn't understand this, but still. Not much I can do except shrug and accept."
"Although I was counting on the person to allow me to use the HHH-face, since I thought it was reasonable after I was, and am still, going to let him use it in FWA, since they have the same rule. But, I don't think this is an 'eye for an eye' stituation. It's life. You win some, you lose some, and my name's not big enough in PWT to win this one. It comes with the territory."
W2K.com: So this leaves you more time to focus on FWA and BWA?
NED: "Oh, oh yeah. It does, and I guess I can be happy with that, hhappy with how my career in PWT is coming to a close. I don't expect the situation to change, so I expect this to be the absolute end of NED in PWT, and I'm fine with it, it was great the last run and I pulled off a great storyline that someone tried to imitate in W2K, but they couldn't pull it off. Not like the original one, anyway, and I think I did much better. It's nice to go out, kind of on top, even though I didn't win the big one, I still had great Synergy moments, and that's what it was about. I have left a true legacy in PWT now, without being a total prick backstage or having problems with Becca as per usual. Infact, PWT recognizes my two-year reign of being PWT Champion years back, so how can I argue? How can I be sour? I can't, and I won't. I even have a possibile Hall of Fame shot I've mentioned quite a few times."
"So now I can concentrate on the closing of my BWA and FWA careers, and I think in FWA, I need to pass the torch. I want to say to FWA "Hey, I started you, but you guys sprang up and ran with the ball without me, awesome," and give a good run with a great star that's building, someone who needs his time in his twilight, and I think in FWA I'll focus on a feud with Ace Hart, and see how that goes."
"BWA is different, since NED isn't officially on the roster, at all, and so I have to be creative. I love what the owners of these two places are doing, and I'll come out with a new charrie, to break kay fabe, but for now I gotta give real endings and help push the people who represent those companies."
W2K.com: And W2K itself?
NED: "I should have more than enough time for that I suppose. It's moving slow, but I can't expect much more. I don't expect anyone to really come back or even stay, this is a passion of mine, something I've put work into, and I'll keep doing so until it runs aground. I have no other choice, since basically on the outside world, of sorts, I'm done."
"But there's platforms an dhopefully Serenity and Christian and Synergy as a whole can cope. They're talented, everyone I brought into Synergy and I believe they can handle it."
