The "Mecca Of Mainstream" In Pursuit of a Contract Elsewhere? BUD & PWT Both viable options?
By Jason Manner

Believe it or not folks, this isn't a rumor, it's a fact. We've checked, double checked and triple checked our sources and it appears that the Corporate Icon's in negotiations to work elsewhere. All the information is covered in this sitdown interview WallStreet gave me in San Antonio earlier today.

Jason Manner (JM): Welcome to Aceofspades.com. I'm Jason Manner and might I say it's an honor to get a moment of your time for this interview.

WallStreet (WS): Right now I have plenty of time curtosy of Hamid Ismali so it's not a problem.

JM: Of course. For those who don't know we're currently conducting this interview from WallStreet's holding cell as he's still being grilled by the proper authoraties. Now generaly the number one story would be about your current situation with Hamid Ismali and the claims of treason pressed against you... But we had a very interesting rumor come across our desk this morning that we feel is even more pressing from a wrestling stand point... Rumor has it that you're considering vacating W2K and that you're considering options with PWT and..... BUD?!

WS: That's correct.

JM: PWT isn't a huge shocker as we all know that you're romanticly involved with Becca Whipwreck. But BUD?

WS -Nodding-: Yeah. I've still got a few friends in Chicago. Everyone knows Mark Hellion is one of my closest friends. Alot of the board members are people I'm close with, and of course there's performers as well. Matter of fact, Dante Cross and I bumped into each other at the airport just a couple of weeks ago and he got talking to me about possibly coming back to BUD, As I also discussed the possibility of him returning to W2K. At the time I wasn't seriously considering the idea. I have a past in BUD and a lot of rivals and I don't like the product. Matter of fact, bar a small collection of people, I don't really like anything about the place... Bar it's consistancy.

JM: Consistancy?

WS: Perhaps not in the product or management team. I mean they're always trying to change things because like the phrase goes "If it's not broke, don't fix it"... BUD is an example of the other side of that coin. It's broken and the powers that be know it's broken and have known it for quite some time so they're constantly changing things in an attempt to find the problem and fix it. Matter of fact, some people aren't aware, but during my run of PWT I was an unofficial consultant for BUD breifly. But just like the last time I'd had my hand in the creative process of BUD, I met too many brick walls and butted too many heads. But they're still the one constant. I don't like BUD, I don't agree with most of what they stand for, and I have deep seeded animosity toward the primary administration and the puppets there of, but the one thing I can say is that when I wake up tomorrow, I know they'll still be there. Bar the WWE, That's more than I can say for any place else, and that, combined with having the oppertunity to work with a few people who I might otherwise not have the oppertunity to work with, makes BUD an honest option in my mind.

JM: Have you entered negotiations?

WS: Not officialy. Like I said, I bumped into Dante at the airport a couple weeks ago, we ran a few ideas back and forth and then we got on our respective flights and took off. And keep in mind also that most of our talks occured prior to the debut of Felix McAllister.

JM: Did the Felix McAllister stunt offend you to the point that you ceased talks?

WS: Felix didn't offend me at all. R&R Pulled a classic WallStreet. Back in 2002 I hired "Constructive" Kay Marshmellow to mock "Destructive" Jay Marshal in GWC and in 2004 or 2005 I found a guy in a California based Indy promotion wrestling as "Ruckus" so I hired him to come into BUD as "The Real Ruckus". I feel like Vince Lambardi watching my playbook be replicated. But then again, I borrowed the play from Vince McMahon so I guess ultimatly the credit goes to him and Gilberg.

JM: You mentioned R&R. Do you believe that Ruckus and Roxy somehow had something to do with the hiring of Felix.

WS: I don't "Believe", I know. But It's straight. I like being at the forefront of the mind of distant memories. And besides, Karma's a mofo. What goes around always comes around... Felix was my Karma coming back around but on that same token, to fulfil my Karma they invoked their own. Me, I'm chillin. Now if eventually a few things happen to get around or whatever the case may be -He shurgs- Then I guess it sucks to be her. But other than that, It's all gravy.

JM: Your history with Roxy is fairly well documented. There's always been tension and distain between the two of you. Some sources claim it's from something that occured during your passing in the McMahon home, some claim it was backstage occurances during your original run in BUD; The reasons we've heard are various but the fact remains t hat we are aware that for whatever reason there is heat there. Stephanie McMahon is rumored to have feelings of distain based solely on association, and then you have the zombie factor. Are you sure you'd be able to make it in BUD? The primary Administration has Hank on a higher platu than yourself.

WS -Laughing-: Yeah. That's a bitch eh? I don't care anymore though. When I was younger I butted heads with Roxy quite frequently. But now, whatever. I just want some place to compete after I get out of here and rumor has it that W2K may not be around that long. I got a call the other day from the GT Network asking me if I'd be interested in resurrecting the ICWA and taking the Rage spot since Hamid has apparently missed two straight show dates. So if GT is calling a suspected American Hero turned Terrorist Supporter to replace W2K I know it's only a matter of time before they call someone else who will say "Yeah, gimmie the time slot". I just want to keep working. If that means opening the card for a show I detest in Monday Night Hangover, then I guess that's what it means. I can afford not to wrestle, but I don't want to stop. I love my fans, I love this business.

JM: So why not just work PWT or find another upscale Independent promotion such as W2K.

WS: PWT is a definite option as well. I got a confrence call the other day from Jonathan Brooks and Javen McMillion asking me to come over and work PWT again. I explained that right now is the most choatic time in my schedule as I'm working on year end reports, the final quarterly reports, and all of those things. During this time of the year I spend a lot of time in Hong Kong and what have you, so no matter where I sign onto it'll be early Spring before I get real heavy. They understood and they're more interested in signing me to a ringside Manager deal for Javen based off my recent appareance in PWT. Javen is of course still contemplating my offer, but they both agreed that I'd be a fantastic addition to the weekly TV and even if Javen didn't take me on as his manager, I could scout another talent or work on the commentary team. As of right now I've accepted PWT's offer and am currently waiting to see what Javen does before I figure out which path I'll be taking in PWT. But once my Pentex work load has lessened, I'll still need someplace to compete on a regular bases.

JM: PWT Won't allow you to compete?

WS: I don't know, we haven't discussed things that far. I'm sure they would. WallStreet equals ratings and everybody knows that. I mean I'm not trying to be smug, but facts are facts and the fact is that when Taylor McCallister's on TV the ratings spike. I'd rather spike PWT's ratings seeing as PWT is basically the opposite of BUD for me. I don't care for the current product too much, but I know that whenever I have the time I can go in and edit the product as I see neccesary and I'll recieve minimal resistance. Why? PWT knows that I know what I'm doing. I've been called the greatest mind in the business and frankly, I am. There's only one guy who comes close to me and that's Jeremy McMillion. Love him or hate him, he has the mind for the business. But I'm a strong booker with constant developing storylines. I know what the people want because I myself am still as much a fan as I was the day I started in this business.

JM: There's no questioning that you have the mind for the business.

WS: And PWT recognizes it and lets me do what I need to do when I choose to. Also, where there's animosity between BUD's Administrative staff and myself, Becca and I are romanticly involved and Jonathan Brooks has become one of my closest friends. Plus PWT's ran more like a business and less like a WCW Tribute Band. Jonathan Brooks and Javen called me up. Javen looks like a complete twit on TV, but he and Jon gave me a confrence called and had an educated discussion with me about jumpin back on board. Christian Michaels has well earned pull in the creative department. Stuff like that turns me on to a company. I like a company with a high morale. I like a company where superstars are treated well. Which is why I left during the Platinum period. So I don't know.

JM: Sounds like you've made up your mind.

WS: Not really. You have to understand that there's still a peice of that young rebel in me. There's still a part of me that wants to go into BUD, Knowing I'll be crapped on from day one and still go head on. A Part of me that wants to prove that I'm Sooo Good, Sooo talented, that even in a promotion where everyone in power thinks I'm a peice of crap, I can STILL get where I wanta get. Part of me wants to fight the power head on. Wants to be IN BUD when I talk about what a Hell hole it is. I've always been attracted to challanges and I've never had a fear of confrontation. I am extremely confrontational. I handle mine. But then again, I don't want to offer my ratings boosting power to someone who won't appreciate it. I know Becca and Jon appreciate me and the drawing power that I have. It's a real coin toss. For now I'll be working PWT as a personality. If I get a strong offer from somebody, then maybe I'll pursue it. Whether it be somebody from the BUD offices, the SEF Offices, the PWT Offices, or even if my sister resurrects the ICWA yet again and ships a deal my way. I'll consider almost anything right now. While I know many places would be ecstatic to have me, and I could walk in any promotion and get a job... I won't. I'm not turning in applications this time, I'm accepting them. If a promotion wants the Corporate Icon, they can email, fax, or phone. I'll be basing my decision on a lot of things but consistancy will be the biggest. I Loved W2K. It was becoming my favorite promotion ever over night, and then with the snap of the fingers it crapped out. Same thing that occured in The Battle Grounds a while back. I won't deal with that again.

JM: That's fair. I see they're calling for lunch so I'll let you go. It's been a great pleasure Mr. McCallister. Hopefully we can speak again soon.

WS: Absolutly.
