After his match with Latino Diablo, Jacob Mitchell quickly hurried out of the front of the arena and down to the back. Normally, to pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero, he would of did some kind of taunt, but nothing. Instead he hurried up the ramp, holding his shoulder in pain he soon disappeared from the arena without letting anyone know where he was.
A few hours later, calling from a undisclosed hospital in San Antonio, Doctor Joseph Mayfield managed to get in contact with one Ismaili Hamid. This is notes from the call.
"Jacob Mitchell had suffered a dislocated shoulder during the match up earlier. It was to the extent where he couldn't move his fingers and the pain travelled up to his neck. Ontop of the dislocation, he has a sprained lat, completely incapacitating his right arm."
"He is a right-handed individual, so it's definite that he will be out at a minimum of three to four weeks if he decides to make his return to whatever it is that takes him to do a lot. Luckily the dislocation isn't severe enough to put him on the shelf of the most common six to eight week hiatus."
Where we thought good news lay - Soon enough things took a sour turn.
"Because he cannot do anything with his right arm, he's going to be absent from both behind and infront of the scenes. Unless he has the will to rip away his right shoulder, he's going to need to stay away from any activities that will need to use his power. Activities ranging from working-out on machines and weights to training his usual routine will need to be put on hold - Atleast with his right arm. We strongly discourage working on your left arm when your right is immobolized for the fact that an abnormal balance of strength may be developed."
Hamid wasn't available for comment, but Jacob was.
"Yeah.. Well, it's burning like a bitch now, but what can I do? I won't blame the guy I was facing, 'cause I know who it is under the mask and he's a punk.. He doesn't or wouldn't have the balls to do something to take me out.. ANYWAY, It'll suck being out but what can I do? This is the second time I nearly ripped my damn arm off, and this time it's a lot worse. II mean I couldn't move my fingers or bend my arm. Will I come back after it's healed? Ah, we'll see. I might just buy out my contract and finally call it quits while my body is still intact. I'm twenty-five and I know that's really young in this business, but my body is showing signs of breaking down like this.. And that's not good."
He paused to let out a sigh before continuing.
"I haven't talked to Cross or Hamid who were the two biggest factors in getting me to return. Yeah, I managed to bury the hatchet with Cain and it's all good. I heard JT won the title and that's awesome, God know's he deserves it. Though.. I know I've been back only for a little while, but you've gotta think ima put my health over my career always. People might hate me for that - others might be hurt. Though, luckily there wasn't anything big planned for me or anything like that or else I'd had really messed up the rotation. With or without me the W2K'll go on.. But everyone knows that it won't be the same without me."
Before the last statement which was his usual joking self - No sense of arrogance, instead complete and utterly serious was the tone that left his lips. Knowing the W2K fanbase who are deadly loyal to the product, this can't rub them right as Jake was only back for two weeks before reinjuring that shoulder that's pestered him since his days playing Pop Warner Football. With Soul Survivor looming ahead, it's going to be ashame not having The Prodigal Son around, but the show must go on.
