Marcus opens his eyes and beholds one of the, if not thee, most powerful things in the world. Open sea.
He and X-Man are standing on a cliff overlooking the open sea that eventually runs into Southern America, although they can't see it. Xavier looks a bit freaked out, looking at how far of a drop it is to the water. Marcus, on the other hand, is at complete peace with his surroundings... X-Man- This is crazy. Marcus closes his eyes... Mark- To free the soul, you must let it step outside of your body. X-Man's eyebrow raises as he looks at Marcus... X-Man- Since when have you been the spiritual guru?? Marcus remains silent for a little while. He opens his right eye slightly to see if Xavier was still watching him, which he was. Marcus quickly closes his eye and tries to keep his pose... Mark- Uhm... I, uh... developed it while I was in Samoa. The ocean is very powerful, and holds many answers. Xavier shrugs and looks at the drop again, scratching his head... X-Man- Remind me again, why we have to jump off this cliff? Marcus opens his eyes... Mark- Fear prevents. To achieve full potential, one cannot be held back by fear. Marcus is moving his arms around in a sort of interpretive dance, like it's going to help explain what he's trying to say to Xavier or something... Mark- Spiritual awareness cannot occur while one is consumed by fear. We are, with this cliff, being approached by the fear of height. As every other fear, this one includes loss, specifically the loss of your own life.
X-Man- Ch'yeah! I'd like to live a couple more years before I die, if you don't mind. Marcus ignores him... Mark- By taking the fear head on, you will be forced to either conquer it or let it consume you, there is no alternative. You will find, once you conquer the fear, it does not dwell within you any longer and you can move on.
X-Man- Or how about I don't and say I did? Xavier steps closer to the edge and peeps over it again... X-Man- This is totally unnessecary! All of this started because we started talking about the High Risk title... you can still win the title without diving 50 billion feet! Marcus slowly walks next to Xavier and looks over the edge with him... Mark- Hm...
X-Man- Yeah. It's a big fall. Marcus rubs his chin... then knocks Xavier off the edge... X-Man- Oop!! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... Sloosh. Marcus's toungue hangs out as he waits for Xavier to resurface. He blinks a couple of times when he doesn't... Mark- Oops... Marcus stands up straight and looks around. He smacks his lips before briskly walking away... |
