Zack, my almost 13 son. Has always had issues with changing for gym. He also has in the past taken a little longer to switch his clothes according the season/weather. He used to wear his winter coat, mits and boots in the warm spring. Well he's now in Grade 8 and at this age they get a lil more sweaty when in gym class. I kept asking him why he wouldn't change for gym and all he told me was "I don't see the point in changing". I know some of you know where this is going....
So this went on for awhile, and finally I sat him down and said "you've gotta give me abetter reason than that for not changing. So he finally tells me "its because I don't want the other kids to see how weak and small I am and start pickin on me".  Ohhhh, so now it all makes sense. So his Resource Teacher, Teacher, Prinicpal and I came up with a solution...he could change in the Principals washroom. Ta da....problem solved.........NOT!!

He's still not changing, so what's the deal. Then....DUH, it hits me. His tactile sensitivity. What an idiot I am. Why didn't I think of this earlier. Gawd, I've read enuf about it in the past. So, now what do we do about it,is the new question. Suggestions....anyone??
