Hi Trace, well, you know that I don't have a daughter, but I do know a young girl around that age with aspergers. She is an only child. I would say her condition is more severe than our David's, and I don't think having a sibling would change how she has developed.
I think she is classic Aspergers with very fixed and narrow viewpoints and interests.
On grooming etc, she refuses to wear protection when she is having her period. I don't know if they (mum, dad & grandma)can persuade her to do so when they go out during the day or if that problem persists for the whole time. Granny says when she goes to change the sheets, that it's like a "lamb has been slaughtered.."
One of the girl's problems is going out. She will not travel/go out if it is dark. If the family are on a shopping or sightseeing trip the journey must be completed before it gets dark. This restricts the family's movements and means very short trips in winter.
