No, it is not time for Thanksgiving!
To strengthen your child's dominant writing hand use fun exercises while doing so.
One way that my kids LOVED was using the Turkey Baster.
You will need:
Two see through plastic glasses
water
food coloring
turkey baster
Fill one cup with water...add a drop of color (great too when they are learning colors) once the color is homogenous.....let the child transfer the colored water from one glass to the other. (MAKE SURE THEY ARE USING THEIR WRITING HAND).
To change it up a little....you can add water/color to the other glass and experiment with combining colors.....oh the eye sparkle when they realize you can make a new color!
Also, experiment with light and dark colors.....adding just water in one cup and transferring 1/2 the cup of color to the water....compare the two cups.
When done, remember to let them help clean up!
