There are 6 of us, Mom (me, Lori) and Dad (husband, Greg)
The kids:

Lindsee, just turned 14 on the 20th, straight 'A' student, likes piano, guitar and violin, she likes art and german class and sings in the school choir. She likes to make things, so she is a little "crafty" and loves to read, growing up, but there is still a little "little girl" in her. Of course she likes to shop and is interested in learning more about cooking too. Not too fond of chores and housework but is working on her attitude towards that. She is a lot of fun to be around and most of the time is very loving towards her brothers, she is quiet, not outspoken, am trying to get her to be a little more able to speak her mind though. All in all, a great kid.

Luke, 9 years old, will be 10 in October. A very strong (physically) kid for his age and loves to work outside, mowing, weedeating, whatever...loves to ride and race bicycles. We are on our way to the Grands in Lousiville,KY over Labor Day weekend. He also likes to play baseball and X-box. Favorite good is Pizza and loves Dr. Pepper. He loves both of his brothers, but is sometimes impatient w/ them, he is learning. Loves to spend time just snuggling on the couch and talking or watching a movie and eating popcorn. Loves to show off and be funny to make people laugh. He has a great smile and gives great hugs. An awesome kid.

Landon, ASD/MMD/Communication Disorder, 7 yrs old, will be 8 in November. Loves to organize things and clean. Has obsessions w/ Hot Wheels, keys, cell phones and a new one......bottles of Gatorade! and also GUM!! YIkes!! He does have a sense of humor, sometimes inappropriate, but sometims right on the mark! Likes to help w/ chores and LOVES to be outside too....will take everything out of our yard barn and clean it and re-organize it. He is very good at puzzles and knowing the sounds of the letters of the alphabet...I know he has a lot of hidden strengths that have been untapped.
The school still keeps that MMD dx on his records, but I don't beleive that is true for him...he shows the abilty to manipulate and some other higher cognitive thinking processes that a person w/ MMD wouldn't have.
He really is a great kid, the summer has been rough on him, too many changes in routine and environment for him to handle at once. I absolutely LOVE his smile and his laugh when it is genuine and when he just spontaneously tells me he loves me.

Liam, just turned 3 in June, a VERY precocious child...already knows too much. Likes SpongeBob and Mickey Mouse, loves to drink Strawberry milk, also loves to be outside and loves the water, which so does Landon. Liam has a wicked sense of humor, by that, I mean, much more mature than most 3 yr olds. Basically, that is what I hear from a lot of people, "He is a very mature 3 yr old"....he has known his colors for over a year, even colors llike silver and gold...already knows how to count to 10 and is working on going to 20, knows his ABC"s....I am just amazed and a little scared by how much he knows and figures out...vocabulary is out of this world and he is extremely social...I worried about him from the beginning, but those worries have faded now.

That is my family, at least the kids, I will add more about "Mom and Dad" later.

Lori

More about my family...we live in Evansvile, IN. My husband and I have been married for 10 years (11 in November). I am a licensed cosmetologist, but haven't worked in a few years. I always wanted a big family and sometimes think I would have more kids if hubby would go along with it..but doubt that will happen. I like to read, cook and do some gardening, would like to learn how to take really good pictures and someday soon will start doing some redecorating around our house so we can sell it next spring/summer. I am also thinking about going back to school to become a social worker..or something along those lines. Would love to take some cooking classes too. Hope someday to have a big kitchen I can REALLY cook in.

My husband is skilled in a few areas, mostly technical stuff...audio, cellular, and car audio...he loves that kind of stuff. Right now, the job he has takes him out of town frequently, that has been a big adjustment for all of us...but finally financially things are really looking up for us.

We are born again Christians who are active in our Church, and it helps hold this family together and keeps us going..I don't know where I'd be w/ out my faith in God.

Greg and I both love music, although him maybe more than me.

I am not as social as he is, he loves to be around people, I love to stay home and work on projects or just get some movies to watch and eat popcorn...or read a good book.

We both like to go shopping and spoilng our kids when we can...not too much though. I am the disciplinarian in the house...I have rules for the kids and chores for them to do...I want everyone to pitch in and work together like a team...I want them to learn responsibilty, to be reliable and conscientious, and compassionate towards others, and to honor their word..so they can be trusted.

I love coming to this group...I learn so much from you guys and look forward to seeing what new stuff is on the boards!

Lori
